I've heard the saying 'get comfortable with the uncomfortable' many times, but I just read an extract from Jay Shetty that added another layer to it.

"Comfort today often creates discomfort tomorrow, but discomfort today often creates comfort tomorrow."

Choosing comfort by avoiding difficult things just puts off the discomfort for another day. Choosing discomfort now means tomorrow feels lighter, more comfortable.

We start by making the uncomfortable manageable. We don't need dramatic leaps - just the smallest amount of discomfort we can take on today.

Taking on small doses of discomfort trains us to get comfortable with the uncomfortable. Discomfort is the friction between who we've been and who we're becoming.
