I know it's a shocking thing to confess as someone who lives in Aotearoa but I am not a rugby fan š
However!
I had the best time at the Northland vs Tasman match last night.
I had no idea what was happening on the field apart from when they got the ball over the line and then it was a try, and kicked the ball over the posts and then it was a conversion, or a penalty.
But you know what? It doesn't matter!
The energy was fantastic. Being amongst people having a good time, families together, children rolling in mud and giggling and laughing was just the best.
It so reminded me of how special it is to be a part of a community.
Seeing a man shake the hand of another, while apologizing for asking him to sit down. "Sorry bro if I was rude"
Listening to the commentator encouraging us all to cheer out with a "Ok whÄnau let's go for it - Blues!"
And spending time with my beautiful friend, Teresa, from up north.
I live amongst down to earth, kind, caring folk ā¤ļø
I think I really needed this š„°
