I can tell you how much I love our Women Who Follow Through programme, and the immense difference it has made for women business owners and community leaders.

Instead, I'm handing the mic to Laurel, business owner of Vaudeville of Flowers, Creative Director for OneOneSix and Whangārei Fringe Festival, to share her experience from last year's cohort.

Women Who Follow Through came from a conversation with this beautiful soul Vicki Moselen Business Coaching New Zealand-Northland

We both wanted to help other women solopreneurs and community leaders to thrive.

We both saw the need for something affordable. Many programmes cost thousands, and we didn't want cost to be a barrier.

So we combined our skills and experience in strategy and coaching in business and not for profit sectors, to develop a programme aimed at helping women leading their own business, or women leading community organisations.

Our goals is getting them out of trying to juggle 'all the things' with tools and support to define what they need to focus on, and accountability to make progress.

Tonight was one of those moments when I'm reminded about why I love what I do.

I'm working with a not-for-profit board to develop their strategic plan. Tonight was the first session.

When I invited everyone to share a reflection at the end of the session, one of the team members began to cry.

She said seeing everyone engaged and working together had been huge for her.

She was feeling exhausted and that she'd been carrying things on her own.

She finally felt like the team were coming together and stepping up.

Strategic planning isn't just about the plan at the end..

It's just as much about the journey of bringing people together ❤️

The struggle is real!

Working on your own can be really hard sometimes! One of the biggest challenges I find is juggling 'all the things' while making sure I'm prioritising what will have the biggest impact for my business!

As someone working with not for profits I also see how hard it is for leaders to make space to focus on what makes an impact, while being constantly pulled down into the doing!
