Day 1 - we covered Introduction to Tourism & Evolving Market Trends (Post COVID-19)

Under our community based tourism (CBT) program we conducted a tourism awareness and scoping excercise earlier this year in March at Lamhaga ward and parts of Samarai, Kwato, Logea and Gunubalabala Islands.

We are excited to announce that 30 participants have completed 4 days CBT training and have attained a Certificate Level 1 in Introduction to Tourism and Tour Guiding on the 18th July 2024 at Lamhaga ward.

Most of the participants have attended vocational technical schools and grade 10 and 12 drop outs with no employment. A handful of the participants are resource owners planning on developing their tourism sites and attractions.

The feedback from the participants are overwhelming.

Our vision is to train and invest in capacity building and the human resource of the tourism industry in Milne Bay, Papua New Guinea on the hope tourism is realized to its full potential in the near future.

The participants are scheduled to do their OJT with Kobala Falls Retreat located at Lamhaga Ward.
