Mini 51st Independence Celebrations

In line with our commitment to people and culture, our dedicated HR team put a mini Independence celebration on Tuesday 15th September to commemorate Papua New Guinea’s 51st Independence Anniversary.

Although small, the program was filled with fun, interaction, and moments that brought our team together, strengthening our sense of team spirit and unity.

The day began with a short flag-raising ceremony in the morning, followed by the mini celebrations in the afternoon. The program included an exciting trivia session, cake cutting, and a brief reflection on the history of Papua New Guinea’s journey to Independence.

It was a simple but meaningful celebration, yet a great reminder that our people, culture, shared history, and unity are at the heart of who we are as a team.

Looking Back on August: A Month of Growth, Recognition and New Beginnings

As we look back on August, we are pleased to reflect on a month marked by meaningful moments of reflection, achievement, recognition, and new beginnings.

On Thursday, we held our Strongim Susa meeting, featuring two guest speakers — our outgoing General Manager, Ms. Gina Vidamo, and Ms. Elise Baining. The session brought our female staff together to reflect on our progress, exchange insights, and discuss the opportunities and priorities ahead.

Friday marked a significant day of celebration and transition, with three key highlights: recognizing employee achievements, farewelling Ms. Vidamo, and welcoming our new General Manager.

A key highlight was the graduation and presentation of certificates to our employees, team leaders, and supervisors who successfully completed the Leadership Training and Senisim PNG Leadership Training programs. Their achievement reflects our continued commitment to professional development, strengthening leadership capability, and building stronger teams.

We also gathered to recognize and celebrate Ms. Gina Vidamo’s remarkable 10 years of dedicated service and leadership. Thoughtfully organized by our dedicated HR Team, the farewell featured speeches from both our outgoing and incoming General Managers, a special video presentation, and gifts from departments and staff as tokens of appreciation for her significant contribution to the organization.

It was day was a celebration of people, leadership, growth, and transition — recognizing the achievements of our employees, honoring a decade of dedicated leadership, and welcoming a new chapter for the organization.

From our Strongim Susa meeting to Friday’s celebrations, August provided a fitting opportunity to recognize our progress, celebrate our people, and look ahead to the opportunities that lie ahead.

UNRE Log Scaling Excursion — Learning Beyond the Classroom

On Friday, 3 July 2026, our dedicated Forestry Team led a group of 21 UNRE students and their tutor to Laup Warangoi Plantation for a practical field excursion on log scaling, as part of their final-year studies.

The excursion provided students with valuable hands-on experience in log marking, identification, measurement, grading and scaling. They also learned how to take under-bark diameter and log-length measurements and gained practical insight into the Brereton method used for volume calculations.

Working alongside our Harvest Team, Echo Markman and Log Scaler, the students gained firsthand exposure to the standards and practices applied in the balsa industry for both domestic processing and export markets.

One of the highlights of the excursion was the open interaction between the students and our field teams. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with our experienced workers, who in turn were able to share their practical knowledge and experiences from working in the field.

Log scaling is an important part of forestry operations, helping determine log volumes for royalty payments and production calculations.

For 3A Composites PNG, the excursion was also an opportunity to strengthen our relationship with the UNRE Forestry Department and contribute to the development of the next generation of forestry professionals.

We look forward to continuing this partnership and creating more opportunities for students to learn through real-world forestry experiences.

🎓 Celebrating Growth. Inspiring the Future. 🌱

At 3A Composites PNG, we are proud to celebrate another milestone in developing Papua New Guinea's future workforce.
This month, a total of 48 trainees from our 3rd and 4th batch of OJT’s (On-the-Job Training) successfully completed their training.

Over the past 3–6 months, these young professionals have demonstrated enthusiasm, dedication, and a genuine willingness to learn. Throughout their placement, they gained valuable hands-on experience, developed practical workplace skills, and made meaningful contributions across our business. It has been a privilege to support them on their professional journey.
On Friday, 31 July, we celebrated the graduation of 22 out of the 48 trainees from our 4th batch.

During the graduation ceremony, Jacklyn, Senior Officer – Central Stores, shared some inspiring words with the graduates:
"Today marks the day you leave with more than just a certificate—you leave with valuable skills and real workplace experience. Your attitude is just as important as your knowledge. You can be highly knowledgeable, but without the right attitude, it can be difficult to build a successful and lasting career."
Her message served as a powerful reminder that technical skills and a positive attitude go hand in hand in achieving long-term success.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our dedicated supervisors, mentors, and staff whose guidance, patience, and commitment made this program a success. Your investment in developing young talent continues to make a lasting impact on both individuals and our industry.
