πŸ‡΅πŸ‡¬ EDUCATION IN PNG: LEADERS MUST TRUST THE SYSTEM THEY BUILD! πŸ‡΅πŸ‡¬

Madagascar's reported education directive raises an important question for Papua New Guinea:
If our leaders do not trust our education system for their own children, how can ordinary parents have confidence in it?

Our leaders must do more than talk about improving education. They must invest in quality classrooms, qualified teachers, learning materials, proper school facilities, and equal opportunities for every child.

The children of ordinary citizens deserve the same quality of education and opportunities as the children of our leaders.

πŸ‡΅πŸ‡¬ PNG's future depends on the education we provide today. If we want to build a strong nation, our leaders must demonstrate their commitment by strengthening our education system for everyone, not just a privileged few.

πŸ‡΅πŸ‡¬ A CALL TO ALL TEACHERS AND PUBLIC SERVANTS: OUR RETIREMENT SAVINGS DESERVE ACCOUNTABILITY!

Dear fellow teachers, public servants, and Nambawan Super members,

I respectfully disagree with the way major decisions involving our retirement savings should be made without first giving members a meaningful opportunity to express their views.

We are teachers educating the next generation. We are nurses saving lives, police officers protecting our communities, and public servants working hard to build this nation.

Every fortnight, many of us contribute part of our hard-earned salaries to Nambawan Super, trusting that our money will be managed responsibly for our retirement.

Now, with the announcement of a three-year partnership between Nambawan Super and the PNG Chiefs, important questions deserve answers.
πŸ“Œ How much is this sponsorship worth?
πŸ“Œ What financial benefits will members receive? πŸ“Œ Were members consulted before this agreement was made?
πŸ“Œ How does this partnership protect and improve our retirement savings?

Supporting rugby league should not mean remaining silent about decisions involving our retirement savings..

K14 billion is the reported value of funds managed by Nambawan Super, not the confirmed value of this sponsorship. Nevertheless, members deserve transparency about the financial commitment.
Fellow teachers and public servants, this issue concerns all of us.

Our retirement savings represent years of sacrifice, service, and hard work. We deserve a voice in how our interests are protected.

I call on all Nambawan Super members to stand together peacefully and demand transparency, accountability, and clear answers from the Board.

We are not asking for confrontation. We are asking for responsible leadership.

We are not opposing development. We are demanding that members' interests remain a priority.

OUR CONTRIBUTIONS. OUR FUTURE. OUR RIGHT TO ASK QUESTIONS!

βœŠπŸ‡΅πŸ‡¬ If you are a Nambawan Super member who believes in transparency and accountability, SHARE this message and make your voice heard.

πŸ‡΅πŸ‡¬ EL NIΓ‘O AND PNG'S EDUCATION SYSTEM: ARE WE PREPARED FOR 2027?

As we approach the end of the 2026 academic year, examinations are nearly completed, with marking and student selection remaining.

Despite the challenges of El NiΓ±o, many schools have continued operating.
But an important question remains:
What if El NiΓ±o worsens during the school holidays and continues into the beginning of 2027?

I respectfully call on the Department of Education, Teaching Service Commission (TSC) and PNG Teachers Association (PNGTA) to inform the public about their emergency preparedness plans.

πŸ“Œ Key questions that need answers:
πŸ”Ή Students' welfare: How will schools ensure access to safe drinking water, food and a safe learning environment?
πŸ”Ή Continuity of learning: What alternative arrangements will be available if drought forces schools to suspend normal operations?
πŸ”Ή Teachers' welfare: What protections and support will be provided to teachers working in severely affected areas?
πŸ”Ή 2027 school opening: Will schools be assessed for readiness before students return?
πŸ”Ή Emergency funding: Are resources available to support drought-affected schools?

PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE!
We should not wait until students are out of school, teachers are struggling and communities are facing severe water shortages before taking action.

I urge the relevant authorities to communicate their plans now so that parents, teachers and school administrations can prepare accordingly.

Our concern is not to create fear, but to ensure that our children's education, teachers' welfare and the future of PNG's education system are protected.

πŸ‡΅πŸ‡¬ Are we preparing for the worst while hoping for the best?
