Yesterday, May 22nd, 2026, marking a historic turning point for Papua New Guinea's green economy, stakeholders, traditional landowners, and leaders gathered at APEC Haus in Port Moresby for a monumental event.

We are proud to share these definitive moments from the official launching of:
1️⃣ PNG DIWAI Holdings Limited (PNGDHL): Driving our shift from raw log exports to high-value domestic downstream manufacturing.

2️⃣ Special Projects Four [Log Ponds] Forests Industrial Parks: Spearheading industrial hubs across Vanimo, Lae, Central, and Gazelle to cultivate regional jobs and precision engineering.

3️⃣ The National Reforestation and Afforestation Program (NRAP) 2025-2030: Securing our future climate resilience and carbon footprint over the next five years.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the official launch of PNG Diwai Holdings Limited (PNGDHL), the commercial and investment arm of the Papua New Guinea Forest Authority (PNGFA). This landmark initiative signals a monumental shift for our country's forestry sector: transitioning directly from raw round-log exports to high-value, world-class domestic manufacturing.

What does this mean for our nation?
💼 3,000+ New Jobs: Empowering local workers through specialized industrial roles, precision engineering, and technology transfer.
📈 K3.65 Billion in Revenue: Boosting our national GDP through value-added wood products within the next 3 years.
🏫 Community Infrastructure: Expanding on the K879 million already delivered in landowner benefits to construct the roads, schools, and health clinics our people deserve.
🌱 Climate & Carbon Commitment: Safeguarding our 36 million hectares of existing forest cover while aggressively cultivating 0.8 million hectares of new plantations by 2050 to champion climate resilience and sustainable green economic growth.

Through the establishment of 7 Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and collaborations with our global trading partners, PNGDHL is putting Papua New Guinea firmly on the international industrial map.
