How to Order from China and Ship to Papua New Guinea

A Simple Guide for Small Businesses

Many successful small businesses in Papua New Guinea grow by importing products from China. Platforms like Alibaba and 1688.com allow you to buy products directly from manufacturers at wholesale prices.

With Asia Pacific Trading Services Limited, importing becomes simple. We handle your cargo from China all the way to Port Moresby or Lae.

Below is a step-by-step guide for beginners.

Step 1: Find Your Product
Start by searching for the products you want to import on:
• Alibaba – best for international buyers
• 1688.com – cheaper domestic Chinese prices

Examples of popular items PNG small businesses import:
• Phone accessories
• Clothing & textiles
• Beauty products
• Electronics
• Hardware & tools
• Household items

✅️Tip: Always compare prices, minimum order quantity (MOQ), and supplier ratings.

Step 2: Contact the Supplier
Once you find a supplier:
1. Send a message requesting:
• Product price
• Minimum order quantity
• Shipping weight and dimensions
2. Ask for photos and videos of the product
3. Request a Proforma Invoice
This invoice will be used to confirm your order.

Step 3: Send the Cargo to Our China Warehouse
Instead of shipping directly to PNG, ask your supplier to send your goods to our warehouses in:
• Guangzhou
• Shenzhen

These are major export cities close to Chinese factories.
Once the goods arrive at our warehouse, Asia Pacific Trading Services Limited will:
✅ Inspect the cargo
✅ Consolidate goods from multiple suppliers
✅ Repack safely
✅ Prepare export documents

This helps reduce shipping costs and risks.

Step 4: Choose Your Shipping Method

We offer flexible shipping options depending on your cargo size.
Air Freight
Best for:
• Small packages
• Urgent orders
• High-value products
Delivery time: 5 – 10 days

Sea Freight (LCL or FCL)
LCL (Less than Container Load)
Best for small businesses with smaller cargo.
FCL (Full Container Load)
Best for large orders.
Delivery time: 15 – 30 days
Your cargo will arrive at:
• Port of Lae
• Port of Port Moresby

Step 5: Customs Clearance in PNG
Our team will assist with:
• Import documentation
• Customs clearance
• Cargo handling
Because Asia Pacific Trading Services Limited has offices in:
📍 Guangzhou
📍 Shenzhen
📍 Lae
📍 Port Moresby
we can coordinate your shipment from factory to PNG smoothly.

Step 6: Cargo Delivery
Once cleared, your cargo can be:

Every Kina Matters...

For those of us with one paycheck only at this time means some of the things we spend on, will need an assessment.

Those who have business also will assess their spending too on areas that doesn't contribute to the growth of the business.

And those in informal businesses will also take note of their money coming in and money going out.

Such areas that needs attention;

✅️ Saving a Kina in buying lunch rather we bring something at home to hold us til afternoon,
✅️ Save a Kina in haus krai and family contributions,
✅️ Save a Kina in buying processed food over food at markets or backyard vegetable growing,
✅️ Save a Kina in ordering of goods that is not selling out fast over those in demand,
✅️ Save a Kina in running your business at home or online over high cost of rentals renting a shop,
✅️ Entertainment and charity giving too should take into consideration if it's about adding value to you, or might as well skip it at times.

Financial Literacy is still a big problem in our country, and areas of budgeting should be a household talk also for our kids.

Let's make it a habit to save a Kina, and prioritize areas only that needs attention.

Times are tough, we need to make tough decisions also.
