HOW DO I APPLY FOR THE PALM SCHEME?

The Pacific Australia Labour Mobility scheme is the Australian Government program that brings workers to Australia for up to four years to work in occupations including agriculture, livestock, meat processing, hospitality and aged care. For Papua New Guinea, the PNG Labour Mobility Unit administers the program. It is a government-to-government program and you cannot participate without the approval and management of the PNG Labour Mobility Unit.

All recruitment goes through district and provincial administrations. Your first point of contact is your district or provincial administration, who can tell you what arrangements they have in place to help you participate on the PALM scheme.

More than 35,000 workers now participate in the PALM scheme and Papua New Guinea's presence is growing. This means more people are getting the opportunity to participate.

This flyer tells you about the process. It makes it very clear that ONLY the PNG Labour Mobility Unit can approve your participation and that it requires both local selection processes, an LMU selection process AND an employer selection process. You cannot buy your way to a job and anyone telling you that they can get you to Australia in the next few weeks is scamming you.

Please make sure you are talking to an authorised LMU representative. They will use a ".treasury.gov.pg" email address. Do NOT trust gmail addresses and do NOT trust anyone who approaches you directly about a job. These are all scams.

The PNG Labour Mobility Unit will never ask you for money. Anyone asking you to pay to a personal bank account is SCAMMING you and is part of an international scam ring. They have no jobs to offer and you will not be getting a visa.
