The Polangui Community College (PCC), in partnership with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) โ Polangui Fire Station, successfully conducted the โBIDA sa Fire Square Roadshowโ on April 30, 2026, at the PCC Covered Court, transforming the venue into a hub for emergency preparedness and life-saving training. The initiative aimed to equip NSTP students with essential skills in fire prevention, emergency response, and safety awareness empowering them to become the institutionโs first line of defense against fire-related incidents.
This collaborative effort among the PCC College Student Council, NSTP Club, and Drug Watch Club featured hands-on learning through interactive stations covering fire safety tips, ropemanship and knot tying, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), splinting and bandaging, static display, and actual firefighting. These activities simulated real-life emergency situations, reinforcing practical knowledge and the importance of preparedness, especially during the summer season when fire risks are heightened.
The program formally opened with a message from Dr. Catalina R. Flores, President of PCC, followed by insights from SFO1 Angelie M. Ret, who highlighted the significance of the โBIDAโ campaign Buhay Ingatan, Drogaโy Ayawan and its role in guiding and protecting the youth. SFO2 Joemar O. Pecundo, Deputy Fire Marshal, further emphasized the importance of fire safety initiatives in the community. The event was also graced by the presence of Congressman Adrian Salceda, who showed his support for the program.
As a recognition of their invaluable contribution, PCC-CSC awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to the BFP Polangui Fire Station for the successful conduct of the activity. The program concluded with closing remarks from SFO2 Peter John B. Lawas, marking the success of the roadshow.
