Output 1 from my newly started Weaving Era 😄

I've been curious about weaving since I got back from my pottery lessons at Alima Studio, but I couldn't find the time to go somewhere (or find someone) and learn weaving so I did what I do best—trial and error process. And, ta-da!!! 🎉

This was made from some common grass that I dried and flattened to be more manageable. There were just a few tweaks I took notes of while in the process:

1. Already-dried grass tends to be brittle, so it's better to pick the green ones and air dry them.
2. I read that for some weaving materials, they soak it first in water, so it's more flexible. I might try that next time after air-drying and flatteninng them.

Goal is at least 1 birdhouse for 1 lucky bird this coming mating and nesting season 😂 Stay tuned to Output 2 😂 see you around, lovely people! ❤️

Hello, lovely people! Yes, I'm bringing back my calligraphy workshop as one of the studio's stretching-out-of-hibernation activities 😉

Level 1 & 2 will focus on brush pen calligraphy foundations: basic strokes, and letter formation. Because in calligraphy, letters are often formed by at least 2-3 strokes—it's not a one-stroke-fits-all kinda art. Who would've thought, right? 😄🤩

So, ready to learn a new skill?

💌 Registration fee starts at ₱1,800
🐦 Early bird discount: ₱1,600 if you register on or before October 17
🪷 Old student discount: ₱1,350 if you joined the Mindfulness Calligraphy Workshop last September 13 and want a more structured, calligraphy-focused session.

TLC Studio, refreshed ✨ Yey!! ❤️

Decided to remake the studio logo from a generic one into something personally drawn. I kept the Sakura (cherry blossom), which had been the main part of my logo from the start.

Cherry blossoms are known as the 'fleeting beauty', a gentle reminder for us to be present and appreciate the things that we have.

As for why I use it as my logo 🤔 I guess it's because I love the process of making things? Nothing puts me into a more mindful and present state than planning, tinkering, and creating 😅

So, as the studio gently stretches out of hibernation, I'm hoping to align its future activities with more trials, errors, and creation.

PS. Also partly because I cried so much watching the movie 5cm per second, an anime which somehow centered around the cherry blossom tree where these two kids made a promise 😂
