Rice cooker dos and don'ts! 😊

*Dos:*
1. *Read the manual*: Familiarize yourself with the cooker's features and settings.
2. *Use the right water ratio*: Typically 1:1 water-to-rice ratio, but check your cooker's instructions.
3. *Clean regularly*: Wipe down the pot and lid after each use to prevent stuck-on rice.
4. *Use a rice cooker liner*: Makes cleaning easier and prevents scratches.
5. *Cook a variety of dishes*: Rice cookers aren't just for rice! Try cooking other grains, soups, or even cakes.

*Don'ts:*
1. *Don't overfill*: Leave space for rice to expand and water to boil.
2. *Don't use metal utensils*: Can scratch the non-stick coating.
3. *Don't cook acidic foods*: Can damage the cooker's materials.
4. *Don't leave cooked rice too long*: Can lead to bacterial growth and spoilage.

Pag nagloloko fan mo o gusto mo lang malaman kung ano-ano yung pyesa, eto yung mga main parts:

# # # *1. Motor Housing / Motor Unit*
- *Ano*: Yung pinakabilog na nasa gitna. Dito yung motor na nagpapaikot sa buong fan.
- *Trabaho*: Siya yung puso ng fan. Kapag ‘to ang nasira, hindi na iikot.

# # # *2. Blades / Elisi*
- *Ano*: Yung 3-5 na mahahabang pakpak. Gawa sa wood, metal, o plastic.
- *Trabaho*: Sila yung tumutulak ng hangin pababa para lumamig. Mas mahaba at mas naka-angle = mas malakas hangin.

# # # *3. Blade Irons / Blade Brackets*
- *Ano*: Yung mga bakal na nagdudugtong sa blades papunta sa motor.
- *Trabaho*: Tagahawak ng elisi. Pag lumuwag ‘to, umaalog yung fan.

# # # *4. Downrod*
- *Ano*: Yung bakal na tubo na nakalawit mula kisame papunta sa motor.
- *Trabaho*: Nag-a-adjust ng height. Mas mataas na kisame = mas mahabang downrod para swak yung airflow.

# # # *5. Canopy / Ceiling Canopy*
- *Ano*: Yung takip sa kisame kung saan nakakabit yung downrod.
- *Trabaho*: Tinatago yung wiring at mounting bracket para malinis tignan.

# # # *6. Mounting Bracket / Hanger Bracket*
- *Ano*: Yung bakal na naka-screw mismo sa kisame.
- *Trabaho*: Siya yung buhat-buhat ng buong fan. Kailangan matibay ‘to.

# # # *7. Flywheel*
- *Ano*: Bilog na bakal sa loob, nakakabit sa motor shaft.
- *Trabaho*: Dito nakakabit yung blade irons. Pinapanatiling stable yung ikot.

# # # *8. Capacitor*
- *Ano*: Maliit na itim o silver na box sa loob ng housing.
- *Trabaho*: Nagbibigay ng extra “sipa” para mag-start yung motor at kontrolin yung speed 1-2-3.

# # # *9. Pull Chain / Pull Chain Switch*
- *Ano*: Yung hinihila mong lubid para mag-on/off o magpalit ng speed.
- *Trabaho*: Manual switch kung walang remote o wall control.

# # # *10. Light Kit* _(optional)_
- *Ano*: Yung ilaw sa pinakailalim ng fan.
- *Trabaho*: 2-in-1: fan at ilaw. May sarili ring wiring at switch ‘to.

# # # *11. Blade Badge / Medallion*
- *Ano*: Yung design sa gitna ng ilalim ng fan.
- *Trabaho*: Pampaganda lang. Tinatakpan yung screw ng light kit.

*Bonus: Direction Switch*
Maliit na switch sa gilid ng motor housing. Pag summer, dapat counter-clockwise ikot para pababa hangin. Pag winter, clockwise para paikutin lang hangin sa taas.

*7 tips para malamig ang bahay kahit walang aircon:*

1. *Palamigin ang hangin sa gabi*
Buksan ang mga bintana at pintuan pag gabi para pumasok ang malamig na hangin. Isarado pag umaga na para ma-trap ang lamig.

2. *Gamitin ang fans*
Ceiling fan o standing fan lang ang katapat. Ipuesto sa may bintana ang fan para mahila ang mainit na hangin palabas.

3. *Harangan ang araw*
Isarado ang kurtina/blinds sa mga bintana na direktang nasisinagan ng araw (lalo sa afternoon). Nakakapagpababa ng 1-2°C sa loob.

4. *Gamitin ang malamig na tubig*
Magwisik ng tubig sa sahig o maglagay ng basang towel sa harap ng fan. Nakakalamig ng hangin pag tumatama sa wet surface.

5. *Iwasan ang init sa loob*
I-off ang mga appliances na hindi ginagamit (iluminasyon, TV, oven). Mas kaunti ang heat source, mas malamig.

6. *Gamitin ang natural na ventilation*
Kung may mga bintana sa magkabilang dulo ng bahay, buksan pareho para magkaroon ng airflow. Nakakatulong ang cross ventilation.

7. *Magtanim ng mga halaman sa labas*
Mga puno o halaman sa harap ng bintana nakakatulong magpalamig ng hangin bago pumasok sa loob.

*Bonus tip*: Kung may rooftop ka, pwede maglagay ng light-colored na pintura o reflective material para hindi masyadong uminit ang bubongan.
