How would you like to be a part of a curated book of illustrations and essays on Negros Occidental with Bacolod City, its cities and municipalities?
Significantly, the decade of the 2020s has begun. It is time to commemorate important milestones in our history such as the 130th anniversary of Negros Occidental following the partition of Negros Island in 1890, the 120th commemoration of the Republic of Negros established in 1899 and 5th decade of MassKara Festival, among others.
Inspired by our rich provincial and city heritage and the promise of future developments, we have formed a publishing team composed of true-blooded Negrenses and Bacolodnons with a creative desire to launch a coffee table book envisioned to become an heirloom collectible.
Sugar & Smiles: The Negrense Legacy 2020 and Beyond will be a timeless hard-bound book with 250-280 pages about Negros Occidental, its cities and municipalities, as well as the sugar industry to be divided into the following sections, namely: History, Economy & Business, Arts & Culture, Governance & Society, Education & Faith, Sports & Recreation, Culinary Traditions, Architecture & Crafts, and Tourism.
There will be an Advertorial section featuring the book’s Major Sponsors, with write-ups and photos depicting their partnerships with the Province of Sugarlandia instead of the usual corporate advertisements.
