🔐 How to Change the Password of a Dahua DVR
Here are the steps to change the password of your Dahua DVR using the DVR itself or a connected monitor.
📌Method 1: Change Password Directly on the DVR
Step 1: Log in to your DVR
Connect your DVR to a monitor or TV.
Right-click on the screen.
Select Main Menu.
Enter your current username and password.
Step 2: Go to Account Settings
Select Account or System → Account.
Look for the user list.
Step 3: Select the User
Select the admin account.
Click Modify User or Edit.
Step 4: Change the Password
Enter your current password if required.
Enter your new password.
Re-enter the new password to confirm.
Click Save or Apply.
Step 5: Test the New Password
Log out of the DVR.
Log in again using your new password.
✅ Your Dahua DVR password should now be changed.
📌Method 2: Change Password Using the DMSS App
If your DVR is connected to your phone through the DMSS app, you may be able to update the saved device password, but changing the DVR's actual admin password generally requires access to the DVR's account settings or a supported remote configuration interface.
📌Method 3: Change Password Using a Web Browser
If your DVR supports browser access:
Connect your computer to the same network as the DVR.
Enter the DVR's IP address in your browser.
Log in using your admin account.
Go to Setting → System → Account.
Select the admin account and click Modify.
Enter the new password and confirm.
Click Save.

Use a strong password containing letters, numbers, and symbols.
Keep your new password somewhere safe.
If you change the DVR password, you may also need to update the saved password in the DMSS app.
