There were signs. I saw them, I just didn't want them to be true.

I told myself I was being hopeful. Giving grace. Choosing to see the good in someone instead of jumping to the worst conclusion.

But somewhere along the way, hopeful became naive. And the thing about choosing not to see something is, it doesn't stop being real just because you looked away from it.

Now I'm here. Not angry the way I thought I'd be. Just quiet. Careful. Doing the math on how much of myself I can safely hand someone next time.

I'm not writing this to point fingers. I think a lot of us have a version of this story, someone we trusted with our eyes wide open, warning signs and all, because we wanted to believe.

Anyone else been there? Chose to see the bright side even when you knew better?

Used to replay those comments in my head for days. Rewriting responses I'd never send.

Used to replay those comments in my head for days. Rewriting responses I'd never send.

Then I started asking a simple question before I let anything land: would I trade my life for theirs? Almost always, the answer was no.

So now when the comments come, I check the source, say a quick prayer, and keep going.

What's helped you let go of an opinion that wasn't yours to carry?

God, I don't want a gratitude that only shows up when the answer is yes.
Give me the kind that stays when the answer is wait, or no, or not yet.
Let my worship not depend on the outcome.

You've been praying for new doors, new opportunities, a new chapter. But what if God's answer to that prayer starts with Him asking you to let something go first?

An old mindset. A comfort zone you've outgrown. A version of yourself that kept you safe but is now keeping you small.

Here's what I've been sitting with: what God is bringing into your life needs space. And sometimes, He won't pour the new until we're willing to put down what we've been clutching.

Letting go isn't loss. It's preparation.

"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?"
Isaiah 43:19

If you've been feeling that quiet tension lately, the kind that's hard to name but unmistakable, this might be your confirmation. God is making room. And He's inviting you to trust the process.

What's one thing you feel God might be asking you to release right now? Drop it in the comments. Sometimes naming it is the first step.

Lord, remind me that handing it to You isn't weakness; it's the only battle strategy
that has never failed me.

Keep making me brave enough to let You fight first.

I used to be the someone who had it figured out.

Or at least, I thought I did.

I had a picture in my head of what my life was supposed to look like by now. The version of me I was building toward. Confident. Put-together. The one who never had to ask for help.

And then life just... kept happening.

There are a lot of things I used to be that I am no longer.

But here's the part that gets me every time.

There are also things I am now that I never, ever would have predicted. Things I'd have said "not me, Lord" to if He'd shown me the full picture upfront. A person who's still learning. A parent who's figuring it out one school year at a time.

Building something I didn't even know I wanted before.

God has been rewriting me. Slowly. Faithfully. Page by page.

And the version I'm becoming? I think I like this more than the one I planned.

What's one thing you are now that you never saw coming? I'd love to hear it. ๐Ÿ‘‡

One of the things I keep coming back to as a mama is this: I want my children to be kind regardless of someone's title, bank account, or social standing.

The way we treat people, especially those who can do nothing for us, says everything about who we really are.

I tell my kids: whether someone is driving the tricycle or leading the boardroom, they deserve the same warmth, the same eye contact, the same "good morning", "thank you." No one is beneath your kindness. No one.

The world will always have a way of ranking people by position and status. But inside our home, we measure people differently: by their character, their heart, how they make others feel.

Titles fade. Kindness stays with people. And the best part? It costs you absolutely nothing to give.

What's one thing you're intentionally trying to pass down to your kids? I'd love to know. ๐Ÿ’›

We talk a lot about celebrating wins. But I want to take a moment to honor something else: the courage it takes to try something.

Most people calculate the risk and stay exactly where they are. The ones who move anyway, even imperfectly, even unsuccessfully, are the ones who eventually have something worth sharing.

Your failure is data. Your persistence is the differentiator.

Keep going.
