𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐍 𝐀𝐓𝐅 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 | 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

Motorists should expect heavy traffic on January 28, 2026, within the vicinity of Mactan Newtown and the Liberty Shrine in Barangay Mactan. Traffic volume is expected to be high from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes when traveling through these areas.

This traffic advisory is due to the opening of the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2026 and related meetings at the Mactan Expo Center in Mactan Newtown and the Liberty Shrine in Barangay Mactan.

The ATF 2026 opening will be attended by about 1,500 delegates, including ASEAN ministers, global investors, foreign and local buyers and sellers, members of the media, and key national and local officials.

Motorists bound for Mactan Cebu International Airport, Mandaue City, and Cebu City are advised to plan their trips in advance or use interior roads or any alternative routes. City Traffic Management Traffic enforcers will assist motorists in exiting toward their destinations. Travelers are encouraged to depart early to avoid traffic delays.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

- The vicinity of the Mactan Expo Center in Mactan Newtown will be closed from around 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. - All motorists are advised to use the Mactan-Punta Engaño Road as an alternative route.

- The vicinity of the Liberty Shrine will be closed from around 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. - All motorists are advised to use the Angasil Access Road (back of Mactan Newtown Center) as an alternative route.

- All motorists, drivers, and road users are advised to follow posted traffic signs and rerouting instructions during the event.
