The Davsur Chamber of Commerce Inc., as a member of the DOST Davao del Sur Multi-Sectoral Governance Council (MSGC), participated in the presentation and development of the 2027–2028 Provincial Science, Technology, and Innovation Plan.

The Provincial STI Planning Workshop was held on August 6, 2026, from 11:30 AM to 5:00 PM at Kleenest Bistro, Quezon Avenue, Zone 1, Digos City, Davao del Sur.

The Davsur Chamber was represented by its Vice President for Industry, Ms. Remedios Baldovino, who joined representatives from various sectors in identifying priority programs, initiatives, and strategies that will promote innovation, sustainable development, and inclusive economic growth in the province.

Through its active participation, the Davsur Chamber continues to strengthen its partnership with government agencies and stakeholders in advancing science, technology, and innovation for the benefit of the business community and the people of Davao del Sur.

𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙤'𝙨 𝘽𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙋𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙮 𝘼𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙖

Business leaders and Chamber representatives from across the Davao Region convened for the 35th Mindanao Business Conference (MinBizCon) Policy Consultation on July 21, 2026, at Kojo Hotel Premier, Tagum City. The activity was spearheaded by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Mindanao in partnership with the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA), with the Tagum City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (TCCCII) serving as the host chamber.

The consultation was graced by PCCI Mindanao Area Vice President Ms. Nenita R. Malbas, CPA, and MinDA Director IV Rodrigo B. Giducos, whose messages underscored the importance of strengthening collaboration between the public and private sectors in advancing Mindanao's economic development. The program also featured the presentation of MinDA's policy agenda by Dr. Adrian Tamayo, Head of the Policy Formulation Division, together with Ms. Anelyn Binancilan and the MinDA Team. Their presentation provided valuable insights into the agency's strategic priorities and reinforced the importance of aligning regional business concerns with Mindanao's broader development agenda.

The consultation provided a venue for Chamber Presidents and business leaders to openly discuss the pressing issues, concerns, and policy priorities affecting their respective localities and business communities. Through meaningful dialogue, participants shared recommendations and proposed policy interventions aimed at improving the business environment and addressing both long-standing and emerging challenges across the Davao Region.

MinDA representatives actively listened to the concerns raised during the consultation and reaffirmed their commitment to bringing these recommendations to the national level for appropriate consideration and action. The consolidated resolutions and policy recommendations from the consultation will be presented during the 35th Mindanao Business Conference, to be held on August 11–13, 2026, in Cagayan de Oro City, contributing to Mindanao's unified private sector policy agenda.

The consultation reaffirmed the importance of collaborative leadership and a unified business voice in shaping policies that foster sustainable economic growth, strengthen regional competitiveness, and create greater opportunities for communities across Mindanao.

The Padigosan Festival is the annual cultural festival of Digos City, Davao del Sur, celebrated every July 19 to commemorate the founding of Digos as a municipality on July 19, 1949.

The name “Padigosan" is derived from the local word "digos"or "padigus," which means “to take a bath."Historical accounts say the early settlers used the Digos River and nearby waterways as bathing places, and this eventually became associated with the name of the city.

Highlights of the Padigosan Festival

* 🎭 Colorful street dancing competitions showcasing the culture and traditions of Digos.
* 🐖 The famous **Lechon Parade (Lechonan)** featuring beautifully decorated roasted pigs.
