This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:
“I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.
- Isaiah 48:17

Believers are born into a living hope, a true foundation for their expectations and desires. Many people today live with a false sense of security. They assume that what’s important in this life is the physical and material. But there is no safety in temporal things. Those who pursue wealth and health rather than God find that their dreams either go unfulfilled or fail to satisfy.

Christians anchor their hope on the solid rock of Jesus Christ. His words are always true and His promises are never broken. The Lord does not disappoint those who seek His will. Don’t misunderstand that statement—we might feel temporarily let down when something we hope for is not in God’s plan. But He doesn’t go back on the promise to give His followers what’s best. When one door closes, there is another about to open with something more fitting behind it. And remember, it’s impossible for the Lord to be outdone. We can’t even wish ourselves as much good as God has in store.

The best choice a Christian can make is to fix his or her hope on Christ. Welcome whatever fits His will for your life, and turn away from what does not. Circumstances may shift and change, but Jesus never does. He is a living hope who never disappoints.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
- Romans 15:13

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
- Colossians 3:23-24

A servant heart can impact other employees as well. Service that is rendered with kindness, grace, and humility gets coworkers’ attention, which in turn opens up opportunities for ministry to the people with whom we spend hours each day.

Rewards for enthusiastic service on the job can take many forms—including greater personal satisfaction in our work and opportunities to reflect Christ to others. There is also the joy of knowing that our Father is pleased by our efforts.

When we work in a way that honors the Lord, we may be surprised by the opportunities that appear.

Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, 8 because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free.
- Ephesians 6:7-8

God’s children are called to be His servants. Since we spend significant amounts of time at a job, much of our service will be done there. As employees, we are to apply the biblical principles of obedience and sacrifice, because whoever our human boss may be, the Lord is the ultimate authority overseeing our actions. He wants to observe us practicing righteousness—at work and in every other area of our life.

We are always serving Christ—no matter who our boss on earth is.

The land yields its harvest; God, our God, blesses us.May God bless us still, so that all the ends of the earth will fear him.
- Psalm 67:6-7

When the Lord blesses you, He’s not only doing something for you; He’s also doing something in and through you. Ask God how to use His gifts as a way to point people to Him.

Just as the Lord blesses you, He wants you to be a blessing to others.

But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you. Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.
- Psalm 5:11-12

The Lord provides a vast array of good gifts, and the desire for such benefits is normal and universal. In fact, as we yearn for divine blessings, why not apply the golden rule as a motivation to bless others—including God Himself—through prayer and service?

Our choice to bless can have a far-reaching impact.

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—
- John 14:16

Jesus promised to give us an internal and ever-present Guide. Starting at the moment of salvation, everyone who trusts in the Savior is indwelt by the Holy Spirit, who promises to lead believers into all the truth. We’ve no reason to fear, because He will direct us. However, while the Spirit’s leadership is always right, at times our reception isn’t clear. If that happens and we’re tempted to tolerate sin in one area, we shouldn’t expect to receive His guidance in another.

When a decision is unclear, ask yourself questions like, Will Christ be glorified in this? or Will this draw me closer to the Lord? If the answer is no, then don’t follow that path, because the Holy Spirit is not guiding you there. His leading always aligns with Scripture and accomplishes God’s perfect plan.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
- Galatians 5:22-26

For the Holy Spirit to bring forth Christlike character, we can’t be passive bystanders. Our part is to meditate on God’s Word so we can learn about His character and apply His principles. Then, we must make wise decisions each day that allow the Spirit to develop godliness in our life.

The Holy Spirit transforms the believer from the inside out.

Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths.
Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.
- Psalm 25:4-5

When you trusted in Christ, the Holy Spirit came into your heart and sealed you as a child of God. If you ask and believe, the Spirit will teach you how to live a godly life. Determine to follow Him by cleansing your heart, asking for guidance, waiting, and listening.

Determine to wait for God's leading—don't allow yourself to be pressured into a quick decision.

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.
- 1 John 5:14-15

When asking the Lord to reveal His will, we shouldn’t expect instant answers. The discipline of waiting builds character, and besides, rushing the process may lead to a path that misses God’s best. Take the time to seek the Lord’s plan for your life, remembering He’ll provide all you need in order to follow Him.

16/01/2026

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
- Ephesians 2:10

As believers, we are all special—God’s “workmanship”. We’re members of His family, indwelt by the Holy Spirit; His light is the radiance within us. So our life has potential beyond imagination. We have no idea what amazing things the Lord can do through our willingness simply to shine the light of His powerful love.

If you’ll pray, “Father, do whatever You want with my life,” you can be sure that He’ll reveal the next step. God is willing and ready to move in the life of anyone who chooses to be available for Him.

I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart.
Jeremiah 24:7

Many of us have been blessed with close friends. Imagine if we never spent time with them but instead just thought and talked about how wonderful these special people are. Wouldn’t it be strange? Yet some Christians do just that. Though they accumulate knowledge about God, they miss out on rich fellowship with their heavenly Father, the best friend anyone could ever have.

Walking closely with the Lord takes commitment and time, but it is essential if we want to grow in Christlikeness.

God wants to speak directly to you, so open His Word and listen.
