Hindi ko sinasabing may kinalaman si Robin Padilla sa putukan.
Pero bilang senador na nakita sa loob ng Senado matapos makarinig ng mga putok, nag-thumbs up sa camera, at tumangging magpaliwanag sa media, he invited a legitimate public question:
Senator, bakit ganoon ang naging asal mo sa gitna ng kaguluhan? Bakit thumbs up ang sagot sa isang sitwasyong dapat seryosohin ng buong institusyon?
Because normal people do not hear gunfire inside a national institution and respond like they just finished a taping. A thumbs-up is not an explanation. Silence is not accountability. And composure, in the middle of institutional chaos, does not exempt a public official from questions.
Kung wala kang alam, sabihin mo.
Kung wala kang dapat ipaliwanag, mas madaling magsalita.
Pero huwag mong i-thumbs up ang taumbayan habang ang Senado ay nagmumukhang eksena ng institutional impunity.
Again, I am not saying he had anything to do with the incident, but when my feed is already flooded with dark allegations, suspicious readings, and unanswered questions, the responsible thing for a public official to do is not to smile for the camera, but to clarify, explain, and stop the public from filling the silence with worse conclusions.
