If you do social media management and feel stuck and like you can't scale, here are three things I've learned that have significantly helped us scale income per month.
๐Don't undercharge for your services.
You are valuable. Quit trying to just "GET BUSINESS" that will cap you at a certain number of clients and give you no time to hire, work ON the business, or even begin to think about scaling. This comes from framing it effectively in the beginning. Think about this. If a company needs social media management (100% of them do), they either have the option to hire someone or hire a contractor. If they hire someone, it's risky. They have to write out a scope of work, job description, etc. All these things that they likely don't know how to do. If they want the cheapest option, then they'll get the cheapest service. Be confident. Know your worth. Price to delegate.
๐Set appropriate boundaries.
Oftentimes, when you start doing social media management it ends up becoming a 20 hour a week job. "Hey, can you pop by the office really fast for xyz." "Hey, can you do this for us really fast." "Hey, can you do an extra this, an extra that." All of a sudden, you're a glorified employee getting constant texts and e-mails focusing on one client. This is a trap. Any frustration is an unmet expectation. Be specific with your expectations up front and stick to them.
๐ Delegate
Don't be afraid to delegate and hire. Hire fast. Delegate fast. Get in the habit of figuring out WHAT you can delegate. Brand your company, not yourself. The quicker you can get stuff off of your plate, the quicker you'll be able to scale. This is hard, but it's worth it. Find a graphic designer you can delegate to while still making your appropriate margins. Get into this mindset early before it's too late and you find yourself working constantly on the hamster wheel with no end in sight.
I hope this helps someone.
