84 years later, the word “Kagitingan” still feels heavy. 🇵🇭
Today, as we observe Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor), we aren’t just looking back at the history shown in this image—we are looking at the resilience that defines our national character.
The official 2026 theme, “Giting ng Bayani, Pamana sa Salinlahi” (Valor of Heroes, Legacy for Generations), reminds us that courage isn’t a static historical event. It’s a baton passed from one generation to the next.
In our homes and schools, we see this legacy in the grit of our students and the dedication of those mentoring them. We are building the future on the foundation of those who refused to break under pressure.
In our professional lives, valor rarely looks like a grand gesture. Instead, it looks like:
• Strategic Endurance: Staying the course when transitions get “crazy busy” or systems change.
• Integrity in Action: Choosing long-term stability over short-term shortcuts.
• Empowering Others: Ensuring that the “pamana” (legacy) we leave behind is a stronger, more capable team.
Success is rarely a straight line; it’s a series of “stands” we take every day in our work and for our families. Today, let’s honor the veterans by being the kind of leaders worth following.
Salute to our heroes, past and present. 🫡
