The BIR has officially EXTENDED the submission deadline for AFS and other attachments until:

📅 MAY 25, 2026

✅ No penalties for delayed attachment submission caused by eAFS system issues
✅ Email submissions with acknowledgment are considered compliant
✅ Additional time to complete your submission properly

⚠️ IMPORTANT:
This extension applies ONLY to AFS and attachments submitted through the eAFS facility and DOES NOT extend the Annual Income Tax Return (AITR) filing deadline.

Tax season just got an update! The BIR has officially released Offline eBIRForms Package v7.9.6.0, and there are some critical changes you need to know—especially if you are a Micro or Small taxpayer.

What’s New?
✅ New Form 1701-MS: Specifically for Micro and Small Taxpayers.
✅ Deadline Extension: The 2025 AITR deadline is moved to May 15, 2026 (per RMC No. 30-2026).
✅ New Tax Codes: New ATCs for motor vehicles, pharma, and fuel under Form 1601-EQ.
✅ TIN Update: Branch codes are now 5 digits (instead of 3).
✅ Rate Hike: Foreign Currency Deposit tax rates increased from 15% to 20%.

Heads up to everyone filing for VAT/Excise Tax Refund appeals or Disputed Assessments! 📢

The BIR just released RMC No. 35-2026. Because of new energy conservation protocols at the National Office, they’ve made a special adjustment:

🚩 THE RULE: If your deadline to file a "Request for Reconsideration" falls on a FRIDAY, the deadline is automatically moved to the NEXT BUSINESS DAY (usually Monday).

This applies to:
✅ Partial or Full Denial of VAT/Excise Tax Refunds.
✅ Final Decision on Disputed Assessments (FDDA).
