[JOINT STATEMENT ON PAPERLESS ELECTION CAMPAIGN]

With posters defacing bulletin boards, stickers plastering armchairs, and flyers being given to every student in RTR’s, the amount of paper waste expended every election season is truly overwhelming. It’s time we recognize this problem and consider ourselves liable for the social responsibility of respecting our environment. Environmental consciousness should be maintained even during election season.

To further our goal of promoting environmental awareness and responsibility, the Engineering Student Council (ESC), together with UP ARISE (UP Alliance for Responsive Involvement and Student Empowerment) and UP PRIME (UP Progressive Responsive Innovative Movement in Engineering), will be undertaking a journey towards a paperless election campaign.

Through this initiative, we aim to reduce the amount of paper waste generated during election season. We encourage all candidates of other college councils and the University Student Council to reduce their paper election paraphernalia and resort to more creative and sustainable ways of reaching their constituency.

Together, let us make Paperless Election Campaign happen!
