The jute collection is manufactured using the jute fiber, popularly known as the "gold fiber", attributed to its goldish color and cost-effectiveness. Alongside katsa and abaca, our use of jute fiber is SEACA's attempt to revolutionize the tote bag industry without losing our sense of fashion. The jute collection presents rectangular tote linen bags coated with the golden brown color of the fiber - a representation of vintage and minimalist vibes combined. 🤎🤍

Jute has been the number one packaging in the old times before being replaced by plastics, and SEACA strives to recapture the past by introducing jute fiber as the new comfort and fashion companion for women. Its design is either digitally printed or handpainted, which mirrors SEACA's perception of the jute collection - a touch of tradition and modernity.

Before the pandemic, the Philippines' antiquated abaca production was undergoing a productivity decline, resulting in excessively low farmer incomes. When COVID-19 struck in 2020, it led to the popularization of abaca masks and their use in several PPES; however, abaca output fell by 25% between January and June this year, according to data released by the Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority (Philfida). However, we have the power to turn things positively or change the present condition of our abaca farmers by making Abaca fiber a staple in our totes, our wardrobe - or in short, our lifestyle.

Abaca is a kind of leaf fibre made up of long, thin cells that sustain the leaf's structure. Abaca is appreciated for its high mechanical strength, salinity resistance, and long fiber lengths. Its highest quality is fine, glossy, light beige in color, and extremely strong.

Our abaca totes are primarily made from abaca fiber - a sturdy, flexible, and sustainable natural fiber endemic in the Philippines. In our struggle to eliminate toxicity in the environment, the abaca fiber is our companion with its proven environmentally friendly characteristics - reusable than any other material and unharming to any species.

Meticulously manufactured by our local artisans, the abaca totes promise our customers a comfortable and worthwhile experience, also compatible with their minimalist lifestyle. SEACA's abaca bags are sewn by one of the local seamstresses of Tabaco City, Albay, popularly known as Lola Mariz.

Sako totes are made from reusable plastic sacks or sako. Plastic sacks, in reality, have gone largely discarded after use, eventually ending up in dumpsters. Many local seamstresses, on the other hand, utilize them to make upcycled garments like bags. SEACA's goal is to build a long-term bag collection by partnering with local sewing groups from our area to transform used sacks into durable and fashionable sako tote bags, generating additional income for the sewing groups.

Along with our goal, one of SEACA's advocacy in the making process of the sako tote bags is to instill the importance of recycling and how it helps our environment.

We Should Recycle Because Recycling:
✔️ Helps in keeping the environment clean
✔️ Reduces the amount of waste produced
✔️ Helps in the conservation of many non-renewable resources
✔️ Saves energy and thus helps in avoiding energy crisis
✔️ Prevents landfills and incinerators from getting extremely overloaded
✔️ Saves and protects the economy of a household
✔️ Helps in creating new job opportunities
✔️ Restrains the hunt for raw materials

SEACA presents its 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱 𝗘𝗰𝗼 𝗧𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗯𝗮𝗴𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗸𝗼 𝗧𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 ✨

The Sako tote is SEACA's approach in redesigning our habitual wet market companions. In partnership with the local seamstresses of Isabel, Leyte, SEACA introduces the Sako tote made from recycled sacks, now constructed for everyday use besides "going to the wet markets". The sacks used for our sako totes are scraps from a company in Isabel donated to our local seamstresses to help them begin a livelihood program that supports families and th eenvironment.

In contrast to the commonly known sack bags, SEACA's Sako totes are clamored for their proven durability and fashion. The Sako bag follows the rectangular shape of tote bags but presents a wide array of design options for consumers - either printed or handpainted. 🛍️
