Thank you to 𝗦𝘂𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 for inviting us to conduct “The Art of Strategic Thinking” for more than 30 senior leaders and managers at Fort BGC, Taguig! This two-hour workshop marks the first of our five learning sessions scheduled from 2026 to 2027.

During the session, we explored:

✅ Seeing Beyond Immediate Tasks
Stepping back from daily operations to recognize patterns, connections, risks, and opportunities that may affect the bigger picture.

✅ Evaluating Trade-Offs
Comparing different options based on their costs, resources, timing, risks, and long-term impact before making decisions.

✅ Translating Strategy into Ex*****on
Communicating the direction and purpose clearly, securing stakeholder buy-in, and defining the roles of other teams needed to make the strategy succeed.

love being challenged by work problems. They don’t wait for others to tell them what to do---they’re obsessed with finding solutions by themselves. They don’t approach their bosses saying, “Hi, please tell me what to do?”
When you want empowerment from your boss, you have to show that you deserve it too. Be consistent that you can get the job done with minimal or zero mistakes. Show that you can perform with minimal supervision. You don’t have the right to complain that your boss is micromanaging you when you act like a robot waiting for the next button to be pushed. ☺

When peers start getting ahead, the first instinct is to doubt your own progress—but that reaction often clouds good judgment. Sure, it's possible that you are underperforming (this is the first thing you need to think about btw!). But career trajectories are rarely linear, and what looks like “winning” from the outside may be driven by timing, visibility, or organizational needs rather than pure competence.

The real risk is rushing into comparisons that push you to copy paths that don’t align with your strengths or long-term goals. Manage your emotions. This is the moment to step back, assess what actually drives advancement in your environment, and decide your next move. Here are a few tips to consider.
