Holy Thursday "Selah". An unpopular reality. I get raised eyebrows, confused faces and silent and verbal negations whenever I point this out in my talks and coaching - "STOP chasing success. Let success chase you."

Embodying is more sustainable than chasing. I've been on both sides, I choose the former. Stop chasing, embody it and it will walk or even run with you. Focus on your identity first, the WHO before the WHAT.

In the dizzy and crazy hullabaloo between December and January of planning and party repeat pipelines, a pitstop is an essential moment before getting on with my life affairs.
I need some imperative silence, greens, lazy modes, unplugging and some poetic musings. So as I delve deep on my reflections, my is now officially starting as I decided to win in peace, not in pieces. From the basic to complex, from personal to professional, I am surrendering it to serenity and a win for my soul. The Lord be my witness. It could be challenging but also liberating.

To those asking me how to do it, it is quite simple, just give yourself some alone time, but if you need some inspo, go to a place that will give you the most energy and sense of flow on your mind for it is mind power.

How are you feeling today? It is important to understand our emotions if it is just fleeting or if it is something we need to give time to. Check our charts if you feel strongly about it or if it is something you can brush off. If it is worth feeling or if it will ruin the day. But generally, the 5 emotions in the movie inside out are our emotions day in and out. Get to know you by the consistency of your emotions and learn to manage (NOT control) them.

Question: Are emotions good or bad?

Emotions are fleeting and neutral, yet at times we sulk on it. Get to know you through your emotions. Which ones do you permit to stay for a while and those which doesn't need attention? Those little emotions you embrace consistently becomes your personality and then your behavior.

Emotional intelligence is responding to your emotions with intention rather than out of habit.

Quite an irony right?
But success does not give us an excuse to stop learning and growing and seeking improvement. We can always keep our head up high but our feet on the ground.

What are ways to grow despite your success?
1.) Have a mentor in other age groups that is relevant to a subject. As a millenial, I seek advice from boomers, gen X and gen Zs to have a 360 degree POV on matters as much as possible.
2.) Seek for feedback and evaluation from others. Keep a devil's advocate in your circle.
3.) Hone other skills, specifically communication skills, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, strategic methods and digital skills.
4.) When all else fail, go back to basics and how you started.
5.) Gratefulness: learn the difference between contentment and fulfillment.
5.) Unpopular tip: Learn to have as less wants or even needs as you can, that way life can be simpler and decisions are leaner and your feet firmer on the ground.

Leaders come up to me and ask for help to motivate and energize their team. But we all know that a training session is only planting the seed. And the 1st seed to plant is to create the blueprint of your culture.

If you want sustainability, always start with culture. But how do we do that? Here are some things to ask yourself as a leader.

1.) What is my brand and values? Can I replicate that brand and instill those values in others?
2.) Have I developed people to their full potential? How do I keep developing them?
3.) How engaged and committed are the people in my team. Can they see my vision? Can they work on the vision? Is there a common vision?
4.) Do we have a proper feedback system to sustain their development? What communication style do we use especially in handling conflicts?
5.) How is their well being?
6.) What tools do I use to help them perform better?
7.) Are they properly recognized and compensated?
8.) Are there systems in place to cover all aspects and in proper order?
