Nagbabala ang Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) sa posibleng pagtaas ng singil sa kuryente sa Abril dulot ng tumitinding tensyon sa Middle East at paghina ng halaga ng piso kontra dolyar.

Batay sa pagtataya ng National Association of Electricity Consumers for Reforms (Nasecore), papatak ng ₱2 hanggang ₱4 kada kilowatt-hour (kWh) ang dagdag-singil.

Gayunman, tiniyak ng ERC na maglalabas sila ng direktiba sa mga electric utilities at generation suppliers na gawing staggered o paunti-unti ang dagdag-singil.
