MinSU i-BIBES successfully conducted the Pag-Ukob Incubation Bootcamp 2: The Compliance Compass – Navigating Bookkeeping, Taxation, and Registration on May 21, 2026, at the MinSU Main Campus in Victoria, Oriental Mindoro, gathering incubatees, startup founders, aspiring entrepreneurs, and innovators for an intensive learning session focused on one of the most critical foundations of sustainable entrepreneurship business compliance and financial management.

As startups continue to emerge within the local innovation ecosystem, the bootcamp highlighted the importance of building ventures that are not only innovative and market-driven, but also legally compliant, financially organized, and operationally sustainable. The activity served as a platform for participants to better understand the realities of managing a growing enterprise and the responsibilities that come with formal business operations.

Serving as resource speakers were Mr. Ogie L. Galicia and Mr. Jake Allaga Abatayo, both of whom shared their professional knowledge and industry expertise in the areas of bookkeeping, taxation, compliance processes, and business registration. Through engaging discussions and practical examples, the speakers guided participants in understanding the importance of maintaining accurate financial records, complying with tax regulations, and establishing proper documentation systems essential for startup growth and long-term business credibility.

Throughout the session, participants were introduced to key concepts involving financial accountability, tax responsibilities, registration procedures, and compliance requirements that entrepreneurs commonly encounter during the early stages of venture development. The discussions also emphasized how proper bookkeeping and regulatory compliance contribute not only to operational efficiency, but also to investor confidence, organizational stability, and business scalability.

The bootcamp created an environment where incubatees were encouraged to ask questions, share startup concerns, and gain practical insights directly applicable to their own ventures. By bridging technical financial knowledge with entrepreneurship, the activity enabled participants to better appreciate the role of compliance and financial literacy in transforming ideas into sustainable enterprises capable of long-term impact.

The successful conduct of the bootcamp reflects MinSU i-BIBES’ continuing commitment to nurturing innovation-driven entrepreneurs through capacity-building initiatives, mentorship opportunities, and industry-linked learning experiences. MinSU i-BIBES successfully concluded Day 2 of the TBI Policy Workshop focused on the Guidelines on the Operation of the Technology Business Incubator of Mindoro State University, further strengthening the University’s commitment to developing a responsive and sustainable innovation ecosystem.

The second day of the workshop featured valuable discussions and collaborative policy-building activities led by distinguished resource speakers Sir Jacinto “Jhaze” Asuncion Jr., Country Manager at BetterPay and expert in Enablement and Culture Development, together with Ms. Rachel Montero from DOST MIMAROPA. Their combined expertise provided participants with deeper insights into incubation management, organizational systems, innovation support mechanisms, and the importance of aligning institutional policies with national innovation and startup development initiatives.

Throughout the workshop, participants engaged in meaningful conversations focused on improving operational frameworks, strengthening incubation processes, and ensuring that the University’s Technology Business Incubator remains adaptive to the evolving needs of startups, innovators, and partner communities.

As part of the activity, the resource speakers also conducted a courtesy visit with Mindoro State University President, Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol, where discussions highlighted the University’s continuing efforts in advancing innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology-based development within the region.

The successful completion of the two-day workshop marks another important milestone for MinSU i-BIBES as it continues to establish stronger institutional foundations for incubation, mentorship, and innovation-driven collaboration.

Yesterday, the MinSU i-BIBES Team successfully concluded Day 1 of the TBI Policy Workshop, focusing on the Guidelines on the Operation of the Technology Business Incubator of Mindoro State University.

The workshop gathered key members of the MinSU i-BIBES team and stakeholders in a collaborative session aimed at strengthening institutional policies, operational frameworks, and strategic directions for the University’s Technology Business Incubator (TBI). The activity forms part of MinSU i-BIBES’ continuing commitment to enhancing its incubation ecosystem and ensuring sustainable support mechanisms for startups, innovators, and entrepreneurs within the University and the region.

Serving as resource speaker was Sir Jacinto “Jhaze” Asuncion Jr., Country Manager at BetterPay and expert in Enablement and Culture Development, who shared valuable insights on organizational development, operational systems, and building effective innovation-driven environments. His discussions highlighted the importance of establishing clear policies, structured incubation processes, and collaborative systems that support both startup growth and institutional development.

Throughout the session, participants engaged in discussions and workshops focused on aligning the TBI’s operational guidelines with the goals of innovation, sustainability, and long-term impact. MinSU i-BIBES actively participated in the Technopreneur Ventures Pitching 2026, held on May 11–12, 2026, reaffirming its commitment to advancing innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup development within the academic and technology ecosystem.

Representing MinSU i-BIBES as panelists were Engr. Jake C. Siscar and Mr. Julius Aala, who joined fellow evaluators and mentors in assessing innovative venture concepts presented by aspiring technopreneurs. The two-day pitching activity served as a platform for participants to present technology-driven solutions, communicate their business value propositions, and showcase the potential impact of their proposed ventures.

Throughout the sessions, participating teams received constructive feedback and strategic recommendations focusing on innovation potential, market relevance, scalability, feasibility, and overall business direction. The activity also encouraged participants to further refine their concepts and strengthen their entrepreneurial mindset in addressing real-world challenges through innovation.
As panelists, the MinSU i-BIBES representatives shared practical insights and industry-based perspectives aimed at helping participants improve their pitching approaches, clarify their business models, and better understand the importance of sustainability and innovation in venture development.
