โ€œPaano kung may mas magandang paraan?โ€

๐ŸŒฑ

Mindoro State University pushed its Knowledge and Technology Transfer Office (KTTO) journey a step further as Engr. Randy Joco and James C. Gullon represented the university in the two-day Full-blown IMPACT Proposal Grant Writeshop under the KTTO-IMPACT Learning and Preparatory Program (KTTO-IMPACT NXT).

Guided by their assigned mentors, Mr. Karl Immanuel Medina and Engr. Jake Salvaleon, the MinSU team dove into intensive proposal drafting, professional critique, and refinement of their technology commercialization proposal โ€” sharpening it for funding readiness and long-term institutional sustainability.

The two days were packed with purposeful work: sessions on IMPACT proposal guidelines and metrics, best-practice sharing from established IMPACT grantees, and panel discussions on integrating technopreneurship into the technology transfer pipeline. The team also completed key institutional workbook outputs โ€” supply chain mapping, technology mapping, and industry SWOT analysis โ€” while tackling requirements such as listing active R&D projects, identifying technologies ready for commercialization, and clarifying qualifications for technology transfer office directors.

A definite highlight was the Mentor-Mentee Review and Mock Technical Panel Pitching, where the proposal, work plan, line-item budget, and pitch deck were put through rigorous review and practice โ€” invaluable preparation ahead of submission. This also set the stage for Phase 2, which will focus on technology case workbooks, team formation, and commercial readiness workflows.

MinSU extends its sincerest gratitude to DOST-PCIEERD, UPSCALE Innovation Hub, UP System Technology Transfer and Business Development Office (UP TTBDO), and the UP SikLab Saliksik Lab for their generous support, expertise, and commitment in making this writeshop a resounding success. This engagement brings MinSU one step closer to a fully operational and sustainable Knowledge and Technology Transfer Office.
