Our Managing Partner, Hasan Rashid Qamar, joined fellow members of the legal fraternity, including Adil Aziz Qazi, Imdad Ullah, Malik Haseeb, and Imran Kakar, in a march to express solidarity with the family of Mr. Moaz, a young Hallian who tragically lost his life in a road rage incident in Abbottabad.

The incident has deeply saddened the legal community, particularly as the deceased was the brother of a young lawyer who recently completed her law degree from Bahria University, Islamabad.

We strongly condemn this senseless act of violence and call upon the relevant authorities to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice in accordance with the law. Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family during this difficult time. May Allah grant them strength, patience, and peace.

Our Managing Partner Hasan Rashid Qamar and Senior Associates Maha S. and Khadeeja Sharafat, attended the launch of “Mediation Before Litigation: A Reform Package for Labour and Commercial Disputes in Islamabad,” a joint initiative of the Research Society of International Law (RSIL) and the Legal Aid Society - Pakistan (LAS).

The event brought together members of the judiciary, government, and legal fraternity to discuss the future of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in Pakistan. Participants had the opportunity to hear from Mr. Raja Naeem Akbar, Hilal-e-Imtiaz (HI), Federal Secretary, Ministry of Law and Justice, and Mr. Jamal Aziz, Executive Director, RSIL, on the report's findings and implementation framework. Valuable insights were also shared by Justice (R) Arif Hussain Khilji and Justice Mian Gul Aurangzeb.

The report is a significant contribution to Pakistan's ADR landscape, presenting a comprehensive legislative and implementation blueprint for mediation reforms in labour and commercial disputes. QLA welcomes initiatives that promote access to justice, strengthen dispute resolution mechanisms, and contribute to the development of a more efficient legal system.
