Food for thought :Just as birthdays carry little meaning in some cultures and immense emotional weight in others, psychiatric labels too have become culturally sensitive symbols. In a rapidly changing world, people increasingly think through a psychiatric lens and begin to see ordinary strangeness as pathology. What may be cultural transition, social acceleration, or shifting meanings is often mistaken for instability of mind, when it may simply be the mind struggling to keep pace with change.
