While Pakistan celebrates its Independence Day under the green and white flag, our brave Pakistani seafarers continue to sail through war zones and uncertain waters, far from their families and homeland.

Your courage knows no borders, your sacrifice knows no distance, and your service brings honour to Pakistan. Salute to the fearless men of the sea who carry the Pakistani spirit wherever they sail.

Happy Independence Day to our heroes at sea!

MARITIME SECURITY ALERT

Chabahar Port Tower Collapses After US Airstrikes
Gulf of Oman | July 17, 2026

A surveillance tower at Iran's Chabahar port collapsed on Friday following a third round of US airstrikes on the facility, according to images shared by US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. Iran states the tower was used to monitor commercial port traffic; the facility is also linked to Revolutionary Guard operations. US strikes also hit bridges near the Strait of Hormuz.

US Naval Blockade — Gulf of Oman
— 3 commercial vessels redirected
— 1 vessel disabled for non-compliance
— 1 vessel boarded by US Marines

The Strait of Hormuz remains open, except to vessels attempting to breach the blockade.

Advisory for Transiting Crews
Vessels should anticipate boarding/inspection risk and possible delays in the region. Crews are advised to remain in contact with company security desks and monitor UKMTO for real-time updates.

This is a developing situation — verify current status before transit.
