Playing with blocks offers a child endless possibilities to create and build. A rocket, house, tower, a castle, the child can make anything at all. Block play develops fine and gross motor skills, and boosts creativity and widens a child’s imagination. It can also provide an early introduction to scientific concepts, such as balance and weight. It’s a great group activity, since children learn important social skills such as sharing, teamwork, cooperation and negotiation. 🤩

Sensory play - hands down one of our most favourite activities at Little Learners! 😍🌞 Here’s why sensory play is so beneficial:
🌟 Supports cognitive growth.
🌟 Develops fine and gross motor skills.
🌟 Helps build strong nerve connections to the brain.
🌟 Has a soothing and calming effect on an anxious or nervous child.
🌟 Enhances memory and improves recall.
🌟 Yields knowledge regarding sensory qualities, such as, hard; soft; hot; cold; dry; wet, etc.
Pictured here is our little champ sorting the fluffy pom-pom according to colour. 🎨 He’s using a spoon to scoop up the pompom, but also uses his hands to feel the hard texture of pasta and the softness of the pompom. So many concepts covered in a single activity, amidst lots of happy giggles and laughter!! 😁😀

Free drawing and scribbling help enhance your child’s imagination. It’s a fantastic way of getting your child’s creative juices flow. It depicts a physical sketch of what’s going on in their minds. It’s also a great exercise for fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Your child develops increased concentration and his/her attention span widens. Free drawing/scribbling is a consistent theme of our study sessions.

Fine motor skills enable children to perform a series of important tasks, such as grasping, eating, writing, tracing, cutting, pasting, sequencing, tying shoelaces, etc. Having strong fine motor skills instills confidence and independence in a child as they are able to carry out their routine tasks in a better manner, without getting frustrated.

Did you know interacting with animals brings your child closer to nature? 🌳 It teaches them compassion, kindness and respect for other living beings. Playing with animals from a young age leads to better emotional intelligence later. Having pets also encourages children to be active and playful, and develops responsibility for taking care of other living beings. We at Little Learners love playing with our adorable Fifi and Honey, of course after some fun study sesh! 🐶🥰🤩
