In a Historic move revealed in - Pakistanis who earn more than 1,200,000 per year have been exempted from paying income tax but Rs.100 as token tax. This directly means anyone earning upto 1 Lac Pakistani Rupees per month will not have to pay taxes. The exemption slab was previously Rs.600,000 per year.

Good news. Time is not up!

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) extended the date for filing income tax returns till Oct 15.

In a notification, the FBR said the Sept 30 deadline had been extended by 15 days because of "serious technical problems" in the Iris portal for e-filing of tax returns.

واضح رہے کہ قانون کے مطابق ہر کمپنی کے لئے لازمی ہے کہ وہ حقیقی ملکیت رکھنے والے افراد کا ریکارڈ مرتب رکھے اور اس حوالے سے حلف نامہ ( ڈیکلریشن ) فارم 45 کے ذریعے ایس ای سی پی کو جمع کروائے۔ کمپنیوں اور کارپوریٹ اداروں کی ملکیت کی معلومات کے حوالے سے شفافیت برقرار رکھنے کے لئے ایک طریق دنیا بھر میں رائج ہے ۔

According to the official news FBR (The Federal Board of Revenue) has stopped withholding taxes on bank transactions & the purchase of used cars, as well as on domestic & international air travel, CNG and minerals.

The FBR has abolished the withholding taxes under the Funding for The Act 2021 which has proposed to eliminate over 12 different stipulations of withholding taxes to give relief to the people.

As per the details of the notification issued by FBR, there will no withholding tax on transmitting the money abroad via credit or debit cards at the same time that consumers buying new cars will be needed to register the vehicles in their names or else, they will be penalized Rs. 200,000.

FBR has also announced it necessary for businesspersons to have Business Accounts, which should be declared as well, to guarantee the documentation of the economy.

Not showing and not declaring taxable income will now result to arrest as now the FBR will identify tax dodging through a third party. Apart From That, FBR has also eradicated withholding taxes on domestic and international air journeys, CNG, & minerals.

Forms to submit tax returns for FY2021 are available on the FBR website and the Tax Asaan mobile application. While The deadline to file tax returns is 30 September.

Hackers have attacked Pakistan’s largest data centre run by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and managed to break the hyper-V software by Microsoft, bringing down all the official websites operated by the tax machinery.

“There has been a national crisis like situation since 2.00 am Saturday morning and we may not be out of the woods by Sunday evening,” a senior official said while explaining the gravity of the situation to The Express Tribune on condition of anonymity.

The FBR’s official version was awaited till the filing of the story. “The FBR’s website is temporarily down for scheduled maintenance,” read the website when it was opened.
