Reflexology is the practice of applying pressure to
the feet and hands utilizing specific thumb, finger
and hand techniques without the use of oil, cream
or lotion based on a system of zones and reflex
areas that reflect an image of the body on the feet
and hands with a premise that such work effects a
physical change in the body.
A reflexology chart mirrors a reflection of the body
on the feet and hands, left foot or hand
representing the body's left half and right foot or
hand its right half. In reflexology practice, technique
is applied to the relevant reflex area(s) to prompt a
change in the related part of the body. Research has
demonstrated such effects for several reflex areas
and their reflected parts of the body, i. e. the kidney
reflex areas and the kidneys ; the intestine reflex
areas and the intestines and the brain reflex area
and the brain .
So, are u going to practice it...?

Google is everyone's favorite search engine and I’m not sure how many of you really know the history behind Google. Here are some interesting facts about Google search engine, which you would love to know.

* Google started in January, 1996 as a research project at Stanford University, by Ph.D. candidates Larry Page and Sergey Brin when they were 24 years old and 23 years old respectively.

* Googol is a mathematical term 1 followed by one hundred zeroes. The term was coined by Milton Sirotta, nephew of American mathematician Edward Kasne.

* The name Google™ was an accident. A spelling mistake made by the original founders who thought they were going for ˜Googol™”.

* Google consists of over 450,000 servers, racked up in clusters located in data centers around the world.

* When Serge Brin and Larry Page were born, Bill Gates had a nervous breakdown.

* Atlantis, Shakespeare’s unknown diaries and Mozart’s unreleased album were found using Google.

* The infamous “I’m feeling lucky” button is nearly never used. However, in trials it was found that removing it would somehow reduce the Google experience.

* Google translates billions of HTML web pages into a display format for WAP and i-mode phones and wireless handled devices.

* 57% of American kids say ‘Google’ as their first word.

* 620 million visitors visit Google.com daily.

* 97% of Google Revenue comes from their advertising services.

* Google processes 20 Petabyte of information daily.

* As of December 2009, Google’s assets were valued at $40.5 billion.

* Google has a world-class staff of more than 2,668 employees known as Googlers. The company headquarters is called the Googleplex.

* Google’s index of web pages is the largest in the world, comprising of billions of web pages. Google searches this immense collection of web pages often in less than half asecond.

* All the letters used in the ‘Google’ word are copyrighted by Google. According to forecasts, Google will buy rights for other letters soon (which made Chinese and Japanese very happy). The company name won’t change, though.

* When Google started it indexed 25,000 web pages. Today Google indexes billions of web pages and each time it grows by 10-25%.

* According to Google “As the web grows search becomes more and more important”. It acts like a library , the bigger the library the more important is the index.

* The biggest break in search came when Google introduced their improved spell checker seen as “Did you mean ?”. This feature doubled their traffic and soon the developers discovered that the ideal placement was at the bottom of the search results.

* Every now and then Google makes small changes and test them with a given set of users. The users aren’t told of this. They are presented with a new interface and the testers observe how the users react to it.

* There isn’t any restriction for proper dress code in the Google office. This may include pajamas and even super hero costumes

An eye for an eye…
An Iranian court has allowed Ameneh Bahrami, an
Iranian girl to inject acid in the eyes of a man who
had done the same thing to her when she rejected

through 19 operations and was left blind and
disfigured. But instead of compensation and jailing
the man, she demanded exact revenge which the

10 Unbelievable Facts About Human Brain That Everyone Should Know.

1. Nerve impulses to and from the brain travel as fast as 170 miles per hour. Ever wonder how you can react so fast to things around you or why that stubbed toe hurts right away? It’s due to the super-speedy movement of nerve impulses from your brain to the rest of your body and vice versa, bringing reactions at the speed of a high powered luxury sports car.

2. The brain operates on the same amount of power as 10-watt light bulb. The cartoon image of a light bulb over your head when a great thought occurs isn’t too far off the mark. Your brain generates as much energy as a small light bulb even when you’re sleeping.

3. The human brain cell can hold 5 times as much information as the Encyclopedia Britannica. Or any other encyclopedia for that matter. Scientists have yet to settle on a definitive amount, but the storage capacity of the brain in electronic terms is thought to be between 3 or even 1,000 terabytes. The National Archives of Britain, containing over 900 years of history, only takes up 70 terabytes, making your brain’s memory power pretty darn impressive.

4. Your brain uses 20% of the oxygen that enters your bloodstream. The brain only makes up about 2% of our body mass, yet consumes more oxygen than any other organ in the body, making it extremely susceptible to damage related to oxygen deprivation. So breathe deep to keep your brain happy and swimming in oxygenated cells.

5. The brain is much more active at night than during the day.Logically, you would think that all the moving around, complicated calculations and tasks and general interaction we do on a daily basis during our working hours would take a lot more brain power than, say, lying in bed. Turns out, the opposite is true. When you turn off your brain turns on. Scientists don’t yet know why this is but you can thank the hard work of your brain while you sleep for all those pleasant dreams.

6. Scientists say the higher your I.Q. the more you dream. While this may be true, don’t take it as a sign you’re mentally lacking if you can’t recall your dreams. Most of us don’t remember many of our dreams and the average length of most dreams is only 2-3 seconds–barely long enough to register.

7. Neurons continue to grow throughout human life. For years scientists and doctors thought that brain and neural tissue couldn't grow or regenerate. While it doesn’t act in the same manner as tissues in many other parts of the body, neurons can and do grow throughout your life, adding a whole new dimension to the study of the brain and the illnesses that affect it.

8. Information travels at different speeds within different types of neurons. Not all neurons are the same. There are a few different types within the body and transmission along these different kinds can be as slow as 0.5 meters/sec or as fast as 120 meters/sec.

9. The brain itself cannot feel pain. While the brain might be the pain center when you cut your finger or burn yourself, the brain itself does not have pain receptors and cannot feel pain. That doesn’t mean your head can’t hurt. The brain is surrounded by loads of tissues, nerves and blood vessels that are plenty receptive to pain and can give you a pounding headache.

10. 80% of the brain is water. Your brain isn’t the firm, gray mass you’ve seen on TV. Living brain tissue is a squishy, pink and jelly-like organ thanks to the loads of blood and high water content of the tissue. So the next time you’re feeling dehydrated get a drink to keep your brain hydrated.

While the 2008 Olympics were the first to be broadcast entirely in HD, the 2012 Olympics are the first to broadcast in HD as well as 3D. Sean Taylor, a spokesperson for Panasonic – provider of some of the technologies – said it effectively, “Each Games, from a technology perspective, tries to have a first.

London will be the first HD and 3D Games.”
The games were first televised in Berlin in 1936 and played on big screens about the city.

Then came the first games to enter households (strictly in London that is) in 1948,followed by the first internationally televised games during the 1960 Olympics in Rome.
And ever since, that feeling of physically standing in the crowd and watching these mighty contestants has only gotten clearer, more defined.

Now, they more literally than ever actually compete in your living room

1. Boosts immune system: Because of its rich Vitamin-C content, lemon water strengthens your immune system and helps prevents illness. Vitamin-C also has healing properties.

2. Supports the digestive system: Lemon water helps your liver to produce bile which digests fat for easier absorption and elimination.

3. Promotes clear skin: Your inner health is reflected on the surface of your skin. Depending on what you feed your body, what you eat or drink may nourish or be harmful to your skin. Drinking lemon water effectively cleans your bowel of harmful waste and toxins so that with regular consumption, your skin will be healthy and blemish-free.
