This bridge and tunnel goes under water to allow movement of ships. In order for ships to pass, this bridge is half under the water. You drive down in the water and then come out on the other side. Truly a marvelous piece of engineering! This bridge is between Sweden and Denmark.

Google is everyone's favorite search engine and I’m not sure how many of you really know the history behind Google. Here are some interesting facts about Google search engine, which you would love to know.

* Google started in January, 1996 as a research project at Stanford University, by Ph.D. candidates Larry Page and Sergey Brin when they were 24 years old and 23 years old respectively.

* Googol is a mathematical term 1 followed by one hundred zeroes. The term was coined by Milton Sirotta, nephew of American mathematician Edward Kasne.

* The name Google™ was an accident. A spelling mistake made by the original founders who thought they were going for ˜Googol™”.

* Google consists of over 450,000 servers, racked up in clusters located in data centers around the world.

1. Nerve impulses to and from the brain travel as fast as 170 miles per hour. Ever wonder how you can react so fast to things around you or why that stubbed toe hurts right away? It’s due to the super-speedy movement of nerve impulses from your brain to the rest of your body and vice versa, bringing reactions at the speed of a high powered luxury sports car.

2. The brain operates on the same amount of power as 10-watt light bulb. The cartoon image of a light bulb over your head when a great thought occurs isn’t too far off the mark. Your brain generates as much energy as a small light bulb even when you’re sleeping.

3. The human brain cell can hold 5 times as much information as the Encyclopedia Britannica. Or any other encyclopedia for that matter. Japanese Repair Earth quake Destroyed Road In 6 Days.

On 11th March 9.0 magnitude earthquake destructed a stretch of the Great Kanto Highway in Naka, leaving a 150 meter crater-like crack.Afterward Construction workers and engineers arrived at the damaged highway on March 17th, and by March 23rd, it looked like the road never even had a single crack.

Work crews at the NEXCO road repair company sprang into action on March 17, working at a fevered pitch to help get their country on the road to recovery, literally. Amazingly, after only six days of labor, the road is silky smooth and ready for travel.The amazing speed of reconstruction is being used to highlight Japan’s strength and ability to recover. It’s no secret that the nation is home to some of the world’s best engineers, and the repairs at the Great Kanto Highway are certainly proof.

While the 2008 Olympics were the first to be broadcast entirely in HD, the 2012 Olympics are the first to broadcast in HD as well as 3D. Sean Taylor, a spokesperson for Panasonic – provider of some of the technologies – said it effectively, “Each Games, from a technology perspective, tries to have a first.

London will be the first HD and 3D Games.”
The games were first televised in Berlin in 1936 and played on big screens about the city.

Then came the first games to enter households (strictly in London that is) in 1948,followed by the first internationally televised games during the 1960 Olympics in Rome.
And ever since, that feeling of physically standing in the crowd and watching these mighty contestants has only gotten clearer, more defined.
