K-BIC Startups at IMA 2026 Day 1 | 15th August 2026

Khadija-tul-Kubra Business Incubation Center (K-BIC), LCWU, participated in IMA 2026 – Industry Meets Academia at Expo Centre Lahore on 15th August 2026, as part of LCWU’s participation as an official partner university.

The K-BIC booths were visited by Prof. Dr. Uzma Qureshi, Vice Chancellor LCWU; Prof. Dr. Sumera Rehman, Rector Superior University; and Ms. Saba Hisham, Director SOAAD, Superior University, along with other distinguished guests.

Under the supervision of Dr. Faiza Iftikhar, Director K-BIC, Ms. Kashaf Khan, Business Development Officer, K-BIC, represented K-BIC and engaged with visitors and industry representatives.

Three K-BIC startups showcased their ventures:

● Organo by Sana – Hair & Healthcare Products
● Zabish-e-Zun – Artisanal Jewellery
● Defoggix – Anti-fogging Solution in Cars

The startups connected with visitors and industry representatives, introducing their products and exploring new opportunities.

The event was graced by Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari as Chief Guest. The LCWU delegation included Dr. Ayesha Siddiqa, Prof. Dr. Saima Sharif, Dr. Moneeba Iftikhar, Dr. Ayesha Khalil, Dr. Hafsa Batool, and Dr. Asia Jabeen, Ms. Kashaf Khan along with other faculty members and students.

Strengthening Global Partnerships for Women Entrepreneurship at LCWU

On 28th July 2026, Khadija-tul-Kubra Business Incubation Center (K-BIC), Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), welcomed a Commonwealth delegation to discuss opportunities for international collaboration aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs and strengthening the university's startup ecosystem.

Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi, Vice Chancellor, Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), welcomed the delegation at the Vice Chancellor's Office. The delegation comprised Mr. Hunain Sheikh, Commonwealth Scholarships Officer, and Ms. Reema, Outreach Programme Coordinator, Commonwealth. The meeting was also attended by the K-BIC team, including Dr. Faiza Iftikhar, Director K-BIC; Ms. Kashaf Khan, Business Development Officer; and Ms. Nadia Tahir, Research and Administrative Officer.

The discussion focused on fostering collaboration between LCWU, K-BIC, and the Commonwealth to create international opportunities for women entrepreneurs and innovators. Key areas of mutual interest included the Commonwealth Startup Fellowship, entrepreneurial capacity building, professional mentorship, international networking, innovation exchange, and access to global entrepreneurship platforms that can support the growth of women-led startups.

During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi reaffirmed LCWU's commitment to promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry-academia collaboration. She emphasized the importance of building strong international partnerships that provide students, graduates, and startup founders with opportunities for learning, global exposure, and sustainable business growth.

The Commonwealth delegation appreciated K-BIC's efforts in nurturing innovation and supporting emerging entrepreneurs at LCWU. Commonwealth Startup Fellowship Awareness Session at K-BIC

Khadija-tul-Kubra Business Incubation Center (K-BIC), Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) successfully hosted an exclusive Commonwealth Startup Fellowship Awareness Session on 28th July 2026 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the K-BIC Startup Hall for shortlisted K-BIC startups.

The session was conducted by the Commonwealth delegation, comprising Mr. Hunain Sheikh , Commonwealth Scholarships Officer, and Ms. Reema , Outreach Programme Coordinator, who introduced participants to the Commonwealth Startup Fellowship Programme and the international opportunities it offers for aspiring entrepreneurs.

During the interactive session, participants gained valuable insights into international fellowship opportunities, professional mentorship, entrepreneurial capacity building, global networking, business development support, and access to international innovation ecosystems. The delegates also guided attendees through the fellowship application process and encouraged startups to leverage global platforms to expand and scale their ventures.

Following the awareness session, startup founders showcased their innovative ideas, products, and prototypes while engaging in meaningful discussions with the Commonwealth delegation. Final LCWU Campus Round of the Punjab Youth Innovation & Incubation Competition (PYIIC) 2026

Under the visionary guidance & leadership of the Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi, the Khadija-tul-Kubra Business Incubation Center (K-BIC), Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), successfully conducted the Final Campus Round of the Punjab Youth Innovation & Incubation Competition (PYIIC) 2026.

Startups that qualified from Round-1 advanced to the final stage, where they presented their innovative ideas, prototypes, and business models before the evaluation committee. The competition highlighted the creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial potential of LCWU's talented students.

A startup showcasing session was also organized at K-BIC, providing an opportunity for faculty members, students, and distinguished guests to interact with the participating startups. The showcasing was attended by the UK Commonwealth Scholarships Delegation and the ImpactX team, who appreciated the innovative solutions developed by LCWU's young entrepreneurs and engaged with the founders to explore their products, market potential, and future growth opportunities.

Following a comprehensive evaluation, three outstanding startups were shortlisted to represent LCWU at the next stage of the Punjab Youth Innovation & Incubation Competition (PYIIC) 2026.

LCWU Successfully Conducts Campus Round-1 of the Punjab Youth Innovation & Incubation Competition (PYII) 2026

Lahore, 21st July 2026: Khadija-tul-Kubra Business Incubation Center (K-BIC), Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), successfully organized the Campus Round-1 Idea Pitching Competition of the Punjab Youth Innovation & Incubation Competition (PYII) 2026 on 21st July 2026 at the K-BIC Conference Room, LCWU, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The competition served as a platform for aspiring student entrepreneurs to present innovative ideas addressing real-world challenges across diverse sectors. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing multiple academic disciplines, reflecting LCWU's growing culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

A total of 38 innovative startup ideas were received for the LCWU Campus Round. Following the initial screening process, 25 ideas were shortlisted for Round-1 Idea Pitching.

Startup Ideas were evaluated by the LCWU PYII Nominated Committee 2026, comprising:

Dr. Faiza Iftikhar – Director, Khadija-tul-Kubra Business Incubation Center (K-BIC); PEB Coordinator, Department of Electrical Engineering
Dr. Uzma Ashiq – Incharge, Women Development Centre (WDC), LCWU
Dr. Anjum Tahira – Focal Person, e-Rozgaar Centre, LCWU
Dr. Adeel Nasir – Chairperson, Department of Management Sciences, LCWU
Ms. Kashaf Khan – Business Development Officer, Khadija-tul-Kubra Business Incubation Center (K-BIC), LCWU

The participating teams represented a wide range of disciplines, including Islamic Studies, Software Engineering, Management Sciences, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, Graphic Design, Home Economics, Electrical Engineering, Institute of Pharmacy, Interior Design, Biotechnology, Special Education, Statistics, Mathematics, Textile Design, Intermediate, and Computer Science, demonstrating the diversity of entrepreneurial talent at LCWU.

The event concluded successfully with the selection of the most promising startup ideas to present their ideas in Round-II of LCWU Campus Level Competion as part of Punjab Youth Innovation & Incubation Competition (PYII) 2026. K-BIC remains committed to nurturing innovation-driven entrepreneurship by providing aspiring entrepreneurs with opportunities to transform innovative ideas into impactful ventures.
