There are two inputs of On Grid Inverter. First is Solar and 2nd is Grid.
If one of both Inputs goes out, On Grid Inverter automatically turns OFF.
1st Case:
Day time, If Solar is available and suddenly there is grid failure, Inverter will shut down.
2nd Case:
Night Time, Solar is always unavailable and if Grid is still available, Inverter turns OFF.
(Some of the new users get worried when On Grid turns OFF at night) .

Remember!
Your Load (Appliances) does not depend upon ON GRID Inverter. Those will be working if Power is available from the Grid Side.
