The United States Air Force has awarded a $488 million contract to Northrop Grumman for long-term engineering and technical support of F-16 Fighting Falcon radar systems. The agreement covers Pakistan along with several allied nations under the Foreign Military Sales programme and is set to run through 2036.

The contract primarily focuses on sustaining and upgrading APG-66 and APG-68 radar systems, ensuring operational readiness and continuous modernization of F-16 fleets across partner countries, including Pakistan.

This development follows an earlier $686 million upgrade proposal involving Lockheed Martin, which aims to enhance avionics, improve secure communications, and extend the operational life of Pakistan’s F-16 aircraft into the next decade.
