Laal Theatre Laal Theatre - Theatre of the Oppressed This was initially a community service project designed by students from Imperial College of Business Studies Lahore.

It was a part of their course requirement and was titled entertainment brigade. The group trained, with the help of Punjab Theater and CMKP, 20 workers and students, from working class backgrounds residing in slums situated near Raiwand Road, to conduct street theater in their respective areas in order to entertain and address issues that are of interest to them. It later became a part of a cultur

al movement for social change and now associates itself with Laal the movement, comprising Laal the band and Laal brigade. Our actors go from village to village, industrial zone to industrial zone, staging plays for workers and others, addressing burning issues such as female oppression, class antagonism, feudalism, religious extremism etc, through the medium of theater. What makes Laal theater unique and differentiates it from other theater groups is that unlike those who prefer to confine the performing arts to drawing rooms or a private audience consisting of the ruling elites and the allegedly 'cultured' people, we train people who are from the working class to perform for the laboring and toiling masses. In doing so we tend to make our art an expression of the suffering and emancipation of the oppressed

Khudi organized Laal concert at Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan to propagate message of peace, tolerance and pluralism using powerful medium of music. The event was attended by more than 1500 students and faculty members.
