Google DeepMind is developing a system that enables robots to generate internal monologues—a sort of “intra-agent speech” that narrates their observations and thoughts. This would allow a robot to process visual and contextual information by generating natural-language descriptors like “the person picks up the cup” to guide its actions and learning

DeepMind’s “inner speech” approach may unlock smarter, more adaptable robots by giving them a verbal thought process, improving learning, action planning, and transparency. While still in patent stages, it reflects a growing trend of integrating language models directly into robotic cognition.

Jack Dorsey, co‑founder of Twitter (now X) and CEO of Block, has unveiled BitChat (also stylized Bitchat), a decentralized, Bluetooth-based messaging app that operates without internet, cellular service, SIM cards, or phone numbers

Utilizes Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) mesh networking to enable encrypted, device–to–device chat within a range of approximately 300 meters, extending connectivity through peer-to-peer relays

BitChat is a groundbreaking experiment in mesh‑network messaging—no internet, no accounts, no servers—offering a new level of resilience and privacy. While still in early beta, it reflects Dorsey’s continued push toward decentralized communication.

Microsoft is investing $3 billion in India after exiting Pakistan, signaling a strategic shift in its regional focus. The tech giant aims to strengthen its cloud and AI infrastructure across India, which is emerging as a major hub for digital growth and innovation. This investment comes shortly after Microsoft announced its decision to wind down operations in Pakistan due to ongoing economic and regulatory challenges. The move underscores India’s growing importance in the global tech landscape and Microsoft’s commitment to expanding its footprint in high-growth markets.

Microsoft is executing its largest workforce reduction in over two years—about 9,000 jobs—as it sharpens focus on AI and cloud. The cuts affect diverse divisions, including gaming and sales, and come amid massive AI investments and efficiency drives. While management frames the move as strategic, some critics argue it’s driven by shareholder demands and downplaying employee impact.

Microsoft’s 25-year departure from Pakistan extends beyond a simple corporate reshuffle. It highlights serious structural challenges: unpredictable policies, economic uncertainty, political instability, and weak investor protections. Although the government aims to pivot towards partner-based delivery and maintain cloud ties, the exit underscores an urgent need for regulatory reform and policy stability. Without meaningful action, Pakistan risks losing not just individual firms, but broader trust from international investors.

At just 24 years old, Alyssa Carson—a driven astrobiology PhD candidate—is now in active preparation to join NASA’s upcoming human missions to Mars, potentially becoming the first human to walk on the Red Planet.

Alyssa’s fascination began at age three, when she saw a cartoon episode of The Backyardigans depicting a Mars mission. From that moment, her life took a determined course toward space. Attended every single NASA space camp worldwide—becoming the first person ever to complete the “NASA Passport Program”. By 15, was trained by the Advanced PoSSUM Space Academy in astronautics

In summary, what started as childhood wonder has grown into a meticulously planned journey toward Mars. With extensive training, academic expertise, and unwavering ambition, Alyssa Carson is among the top candidates to write the next chapter of human space exploration—with a footstep on Mars.

Mark Zuckerberg has started a new project called Meta Superintelligence Labs, bringing together all of Meta's AI work in one place. The goal is to build a powerful AI that not only helps users but also understands them deeply—so much that it can plan and manage parts of their lives.

Big names are joining this project, including Alexandr Wang from Scale AI, Nat Friedman (former GitHub CEO), and Shengjia Zhao, who helped create GPT-4. Meta is moving beyond its old open-source models like Llama, and now focusing on AI that can make smart decisions on its own.

Because Meta already collects a huge amount of user data from Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, this AI could become very advanced—able to schedule your day, plan tasks, and take actions for you. But this also raises serious concerns about privacy, control, and how much power we want to give to AI.

🇵🇰 PTA Introduces 120‑Day Tax‑Free Mobile Registration for Overseas Pakistanis
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has launched a Temporary Mobile Registration System allowing overseas Pakistanis (and foreign visitors) to register their personal mobile phones for up to 120 days per visit—completely tax-free—under a Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) exemption

No duties or charges apply. The process is fully digital, automated, and accessible through the DIRBS portal at dirbs.pta.gov.pk. uring registration, users provide passport details, arrival/departure dates, IMEI, and SIM info. These details are cross-referenced with FIA/immigration data to verify visitor status. After 120 days, the registered IMEI is suspended and must be re-registered upon the visitor's next entry into Pakistan

PTA’s initiative reinforces its commitment to modern, efficient digital services, ensuring overseas Pakistanis can stay connected easily without incurring extra cost—streamlining both access and control.

WhatsApp is testing a new feature that allows users to easily switch between multiple accounts without logging out. Spotted in iOS beta version 25.19.10.74, the update will place all linked accounts in the settings menu, showing profile names and photos for easy identification.

Each account will retain its own chat history, settings, and notification preferences. Users will also receive smart notifications that clearly show which account received a message. Tapping the alert will instantly switch to the correct account and conversation.
This feature is still in development and will be released in a future update.

Apple is currently selling around 7 iPhones every second, which equates to approximately 442 iPhones per minute and translates to over 600,000 handsets daily. This staggering sales pace highlights the enduring global demand for Apple’s flagship smartphone.

To put it in perspective, at this rate Apple moves roughly 636,000 iPhones each day, and over 230 million units annually—showing iPhone still drives nearly half of Apple’s total revenue. This performance follows Apple’s recent milestones, including becoming the top global smartphone seller in Q1 2025, fueled by strong growth in major markets like China and the US.

Consistent dominance: Despite intense competition, iPhone sales remain extraordinarily high—7 devices per second is a remarkable feat in the smartphone industry.

Revenue engine: With over 50% of Apple’s ~$391 billion 2024 revenue coming from iPhones, this pace directly impacts the company’s bottom line. Strong global markets: Growth in regions like China, India, Japan, and the US cements Apple’s position as an international tech leader .
