3 Principles of DFM to Keep in Mind
1️⃣ Simplify Your Geometry:
Complex designs with unnecessary features increase machining time and costs. For example, avoid sharp internal corners that require special tooling.
2️⃣ Use Standard Dimensions:
Stick to standard hole sizes, thread pitches, and material thicknesses to make manufacturing easier and more cost-effective.
3️⃣ Consider Assembly Early:
Think about how your part will be assembled during the design phase. Adding alignment pins or snap-fits can reduce the need for screws or adhesives, saving both time and effort.
