Did you know blue diamonds have a connection to the ocean? 🌊 In the past, it was a mystery how blue diamonds formed. Most blue diamonds get their color from boron, an element usually associated with Earth’s surface. But how could that be, if diamonds form deep in the Earth’s mantle?

In his 2018 cover article for the journal 𝙉𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚, GIA Senior Research Scientist Dr. Evan Smith revealed that blue diamonds likely formed in regions where ancient ocean floors containing boron were subducted beneath continental plates, bringing this relatively rare element from Earth’s surface deep underground to where diamonds form!

Another fun fact? Blue diamonds, among the rarest of all diamonds, form approximately four times deeper than most diamonds (at 410 to 660 km), with some originating even further below!

دریائے سندھ پر پلیسر گولڈ کے چار بلاکس 5 ارب روپے میں بطورِ 10 سالہ مائیننگ لیز اوپن بولی پر نیلامی میں دیئے گئے ،، تفصیل کے مطابق سیکٹری منرلز کی ھدایت پر اج پیشاور نشترحال میں نیلامی کی بڑی تقریب منعقد ھوئی جس میں سونے (پلیسر گولڈ) جن پر دریائےسندھ کے کناروں پر عرصہ دراز سے غیر قانونی ھورہی تھی جسکے سامنے ضلعی انتظامیہ بھی بے بس نظر ارہی تھی محکمہ معدنیات نے اخر کار 4 عدد بلاک بناکر پہلی دفعہ عوام و لیز ھولڈرز کی موجودگی میں کھلی بولی کے زریعے اوپن نیلامی میں دیئے گئے، جسمیں ھر ایک بلاک، ایک ارب 25 کروڑ ،ایک ارب 26 کروڑ ،ایک ارب 30 کروڑ اور ایک ارب 11 کروڑ 11 لاکھ میں نیلام کر دیئے گئے ۔۔ نیلامی میں محکمہ معدنیات کے ڈائریکٹر جنرلز یعقوب نواز، ڈائریکٹر لائسنسنگ ارشاد آفریدی۔ اسسٹنٹ ڈائریکٹر جنرل اکشن حیات الرحمن ،ڈائریکٹر ذوالکفل, ڈپٹی ڈائریکٹر ظہور الدین اور دیگر افسران موجود تھے جو کہ بار بار ٹھیکیداروں پر بولی کی اوپر اٹھانے کے لیئے مختلف ٹیکنکل طریقے استعمال کرتے رہے ۔۔ فرنٹیئر مائین اونرز ایسوسیسن خیبرپختونخواہ اس تاریخی نیلامی کا کریڈٹ سیکٹری معدنیات ،ڈی جی معدنیات ،ڈائریکٹر معدنیات اور انکی ٹیم کو دیا گیا، حال میں موجود صوبائی صدر شیربندی خان مروت اور کابینہ نے تمام ٹھیکیداروں اور محکمہ معدنیات کو اس تاریخی کامیابی پر مبارکباد دیتے ھوئے ایسوسیشن کی طرف سے بھر پور تعاون کی یقین دھانی کرائی ، اور محکمہ معدنیات کی کارکردگی کو سراہتے ھوئے وزیراعلی سے اپیل کی کہ محکمہ معدنیات کے اچھے اور قابل افسران کی کارکردگی کو سراہا جائے ۔
