Hope this post finds everyone in good health. As a tax CPA, I have been seeing a lot of Single member LLC owners making this mistake when filing their tax return. If you register your LLC as a multi-member LLC with state but applied for EIN as Sole Member on form SS4, then you can't file your tax return as partnership. Your LLC would be considered Single member LLC if on notice CP 575 G from IRS, it shows the name of the member as SOLE MBR. If you mistakenly registered your LLC as a single-member LLC on IRS records when it is actually a multi-member LLC, it is important to rectify the error and update your LLC's information with the IRS. Here are the steps you should take.
Obtain a new EIN, as this would be considered changed in entity structure.
Contact the IRS: Notify the IRS of the error and the change in your LLC's ownership structure. You can contact the IRS Business and Specialty Tax Line at 800-829-4933 to inform them about the correction. Provide them with the necessary information, such as your LLC's name, EIN (if applicable), and the correct ownership details.

Tips for Getting Ungated On Amazon!

Tip 1: Use an authorized, official wholesaler and not a cash and carry, clearance, or liquidation site.

Tip 2: Look at getting ungated as a totally separate process to selling in a gated category. Getting ungated is essentially a tick box exercise, so make sure you tick all the boxes.

Tip 3: Don’t use your own Private Label products for the ungating application – buy brand-name products from official wholesalers instead. Once ungated, you can then sell your Private Label product in the ungated category.

Tip 4: Always ensure your chosen wholesaler’s product has a matching ASIN on Amazon, which is available to purchase.

Tip 5: Always ensure your chosen ungating products are categorized correctly and are only listed in the restricted category you are trying to Ungate.

Tip 6: Make sure they don’t also appear in a non-gated category or your application is more likely to fail.

Tip 7: Choose products for the ungating process that you can either use at home, or easily sell on eBay or Amazon.

Tip 8: You are not trying to make any profit on these items. The items are purely for the ungating process and to unlock Amazon restricted products.

Tip 9: Find a wholesaler with a range of products that will allow you to Ungate more than one restricted Amazon category so you can save on delivery charges.

Tip 10: Don’t try and do it ‘on the cheap’ – do it properly to give you the best chance of success. The benefits of getting Amazon category approval are huge, so it is worth doing it right.

Tip 11: Make it as EASY as possible for the Amazon representative rather than as EASY as possible for YOU! Make your application FANTASTIC and give them every reason to say YES!

Tip 12: Ensure your invoices are dated within 90 days. The most recent is better.

Tip 13: Do not use handwritten invoices and make sure the details match the exact name and address on your Seller Account.

Tip 14: Buy enough products to satisfy the requirements for your chosen category. If anything, you should get more than required.

Tip 15: Once you’ve found your wholesaler, contact Amazon and check the wholesaler is accepted for ungating before you buy any products. Amazon won’t give you a list of wholesalers to use, but they will usually say YES or NO to a particular wholesaler if asked.

Tip 16: Getting ungated on Amazon can be a GAME CHANGER for your business and the process can be either SUPER EASY, REALLY CHALLENGING, or anything in between.

Tip 17: Ungating can take multiple attempts, so don’t give up and just keep jumping through whatever hoops Amazon puts in your way.

Tip 18: Check subcategories every month by going to ‘Inventory> Add a Product’ then entering the title or an ASIN from that category.

Tip 19: As your seller account gets more established, you might find you can get more subcategories auto-approved.

Amazon sellers need to be aware of which categories they can sell in, and also which brands to avoid. Selling gated or restricted products on Amazon can result in your Seller Account Suspension either temporarily or permanently.

Types of Amazon Gatings & Restrictions:
There are three different types of gating and restrictions on Amazon

What Are Amazon Gated Categories?
With certain ‘gated’ categories, you need permission from Amazon to list your products. These include Jewelry, Dietary Supplements, Grocery, and Watches. Some categories are easier than others to get approval from Amazon.

What is Amazon’s New Invoice Verification Process?
Always check the invoices against following seven points before you send them to Amazon:
1: Dated within the last 365 days
Invoices should be dated within a year (365 days) as any invoice older than this age would get declined.
2: Legible and high quality
Invoices must look professional so that an investigator can locate all the required info. Specifically, make sure that the logo isn’t blurry and the colors match what’s on the supplier or brand website. Logos that look pixelated, or in the wrong place, or like they’ve been changed or moved will trigger concerns that you’ve photo shopped the document.
Likewise, make sure that lines intersect properly and it doesn’t look as though someone has re-edited any text or numbers. The last thing you want is for Amazon to think that you are faking invoices.
3: Never handwritten
Never send Amazon a handwritten invoice.
If your supplier sends you anything handwritten, that won’t pass muster for your Amazon account. Get a new supplier, or tell your old supplier that they need to type up invoices. Old-fashioned invoices just won’t be of much help.
4: Linked to their website
Your supplier must now include a link to their web site on their invoices.
5: All addresses match exactly
Make doubly sure that your address on the invoices exactly matches your address in Seller Central. Amazon loves to reject invoices if there’s an old or different address for you on there, so always keep it up to date with Amazon and your suppliers.
Supplier addresses must also match what investigators find online in their own searches, or they will reject the invoice as “unverifiable.”
6: A professional website
Make sure your supplier has a professional looking website and nothing that is “under construction” or redirected to a generic landing page. Investigators need to be able to run down all the info on where you source your goods.
Suppliers with no web site at all must be removed from your supply chain. Amazon regularly sends messages that your supplier is “non-verifiable” if they can’t detect an online presence.
Any legitimate business without a website won’t be considered legitimate by Amazon.
7: Quantities match your sales
The quantities on your invoices need to match or exceed your sales on Amazon.
If your sales volume outstrips the number of units shown on your invoices, Amazon will reject them and disallow future listings for that ASIN. Be on the safe side and make sure you provide enough invoices for at least 90 days’ worth of sales.
How to check Amazon Accepted invoices?
Step 1: Log in to your Amazon Seller Central Account
Step 2: Click on the Settings tab and select Account Info from the drop-down menu
Step 3: Scroll down to the Payment Information section and click on Supplier Invoices
Step 4: On the Supplier Invoices page, click on the Add a Supplier button
Step 5: Enter the name of the distributor whose invoice you want to add
If the distributor is eligible, Amazon will display a message saying that the supplier has been added successfully. If not, Amazon will display a message saying that the supplier is not eligible.
