صوابی کی روایتی رنگدار چادر، جسے مقامی زبان میں “چیل” کہا جاتا ہے، محض ایک لباس نہیں بلکہ اس خطے کی ثقافت، شناخت اور صدیوں پر محیط روایات کی نمائندہ علامت ہے۔

مقامی روایات اور زبانی تاریخ (Oral History) کے مطابق، “چیل” کی نسبت سکھ دورِ حکومت کے اُن واقعات سے جوڑی جاتی ہے جن میں صوابی کے مختلف علاقوں، خصوصاً مرغز، زیدہ، شاہ منصور اور دیگر دیہات کے لوگوں نے قربانیاں دیں۔ روایت کے مطابق انہی یادوں کو زندہ رکھنے کے لیے خواتین نے ایک مخصوص انداز کی رنگدار چادر اوڑھنا شروع کی، جو وقت گزرنے کے ساتھ “چیل” کے نام سے معروف ہوئی۔
