EXCHANGE OF DRIVING LICENSE

A foreign driving license expires six months after obtaining permanent or temporary residence.

Who doesn't have to Exchange driving license?

Foreigners who have a driving license issued in another EU country, the Swiss Confederation, a member state of the European Free Trade Agreement or who have an international driving license.

Who have to Exchange driving license?

Foreigners from countries that are parties to the Road Traffic Convention drawn up in Vienna or Geneva and which are not members of the European Union.

IMPORTANT! 🚨
If the country that issued the driving license is not a party to the above-mentioned conventions, you must also pass the theoretical part of the state driving test.

GOOD TO KNOW! 🚨
1. It's worth submitting the application before the expiry of 185 days of stay in Poland on the basis of temporary or permanent stay. If you leave Poland before the expiry of this period, after your return the time is counted from the beginning.
2.The foreign driving license must be returned and a Polish document will be issued.
