Academy IRIS Registry Essentials: Important Updates
2021 MIPS Reporting Checklist

Be your practice’s Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) reporting hero. See the reminders below for upcoming deadlines.

What your practice should plan to do as soon as possible, if you are reporting MIPS via the IRIS Registry:
• Download the 2021 IRIS® Registry (Intelligent Research in Sight) Preparation Kit. This helpful companion, which includes an updated User Guide, is available as a free downloadable PDF, or for purchase as a spiral-bound booklet.
• If you haven’t already, start checking your quality performance rates and, if needed, submit tickets for additional mapping. The last date to submit a mapping ticket is Oct. 31. Deadline extensions are not available.
• Give clinicians their IRIS Registry personalized clinician reports so they can see their current performance across the quality measures. If you’re not sure how to print the report, check the User Guide.
• If eligible, submit an extreme and uncontrollable circumstances application by Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. ET.
• If eligible, submit a promoting interoperability (PI) hardship exception application by Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. ET.
• Submit your data-release consent form to report 2021 MIPS via the IRIS Registry by Jan. 31, 2022.
