Some moments remind you that life never goes exactly how you planned, and that's the whole point. 💚
A few weeks ago, my friend Corey Jermaine invited me to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of South-Central PA's 3rd Annual Youth Leadership Summit, and I said yes without hesitation. Because we show up for each other AND for the next generation.
Standing in that room, I saw myself in every single one of those students. Still figuring it out. Still becoming. And honestly? I told them the truth... I'm still figuring it out, too.
They asked me questions we've all carried at some point: "how do you know what college to choose?", "what if I don't know what I'm good at yet?", "how do you keep going when it gets hard?", and "what if what I want disappoints my parents?" 🥹
I reminded them that the path you dream of is valid, the version of yourself you're becoming is worth fighting for, and you don't have to figure it out alone (or even right now). Every decision moves you one step closer, and not everything is final.
I also facilitated a session in which they created their own social media content, sharing their experiences with BBBS and how it has impacted their lives. So sweet.
Thank you, Corey, for always leading with your heart and for bringing me into spaces where we can make a difference. 🫶🏽
