This initiative responds to a real and growing challenge within the sector. The rapid expansion of pistachio production across the Iberian Peninsula and other international markets requires increasingly effective solutions to ensure food safety, reduce commercial risk and facilitate access to the most demanding export markets.
At Bolschare, we are developing post-harvest protocols aimed at:
• Reducing the risk associated with aflatoxin contamination.
• Enhancing food safety and final product quality.
• Minimising economic losses for both growers and processors.
• Strengthening the competitiveness and export potential of the sector.
• Facilitating the integration of innovative solutions into existing industrial processes.
This project reflects one of the strategic pillars driving Bolschare Agriculture: combining agricultural management, technical expertise, applied innovation and market-oriented research to create tangible value across agri-food assets.
The future of agriculture will not be defined solely by producing more, but by producing better — with greater traceability, enhanced food safety and a stronger capacity to meet evolving international standards.
We would like to thank CTAEX and the FoodLab programme for providing a platform that enables the development of projects contributing to the advancement and professionalisation of both agriculture and the agri-food industry.
