Now that the trending debate on the recent logo rebrand by Jaiz Bank has fizzled out [I want to believe so], I feel this is the appropriate time to draw the attention of many to a critical issue that relates to business owners, startups, small and medium sized organization, large organizations/corporations, as well as freelance designers, brand design teams and agencies.
In the world of branding, a logo is more than just a symbol. It is a legal asset, a strategic differentiator, and the most visible expression of brand identity.
But what happens when two or more logos (from entirely different industries) look strikingly alike?
