🌱 New episode alert! 🌱
What does leadership look like for young people today?

In this episode, we talk with Dr. Ivan Ivanov, Professor of International Politics and Director of the School for Young Leaders, about leadership, youth participation, and why young people need real opportunities to make a difference.

We explore big questions: Why are younger generations becoming more pragmatic? Why do they question authority instead of simply accepting it? And how can youth workers give young people real responsibility, instead of just involving them in small decisions?

A conversation about leadership, participation, and the role youth workers play in helping young people grow.

🎙️ New podcast episode is out!

Why do some adults inspire young people to grow, while others immediately lose their attention?

In this episode, we talk with David Yeager, professor of psychology and author of 10 to 25, about what truly motivates young people and how adults can communicate with them more effectively.

We explore big questions: Are teenagers really irrational, or are we misunderstanding them? What happens when adults “grown-splain” instead of mentor? And why does respect and status matter so deeply in youth development?

A powerful conversation about motivation, trust, and the irreplaceable role of meaningful human connection in the lives of young people. 🎧

🎙️ New podcast episode is out!

Is Generation Z really disengaged from politics or are they responding to a system that no longer feels relevant to their lives?

In this episode, we’re joined by Elena Avramovska to unpack what’s shaping youth participation across Europe today.

We dive into key questions: Why are issues like housing, job insecurity, and long-term stability taking center stage? What’s behind the growing divide in perspectives among young people? And how can we move from trying to “activate” youth to actually understanding and connecting with their realities?

An insightful conversation that challenges assumptions and invites a more honest look at what young people are really experiencing.

What do trainers need in order not only to perform well, but to stay well?🧐
This question sits at the heart of the Holistic Trainer Lab, happening in Arrábida, Portugal from 20–27 September 2026.✨

We are inviting trainers and facilitators active in the youth field to join a collaborative space where we will test and refine support materials created in the framework of Holistic Trainer 2.0. 🧪The Lab will focus on themes that matter deeply to many of us in this profession: holistic strategies, creativity, community, values and activism, recognition, and continuous learning.

Holistic Trainer Lab is a space for peer exchange, reflection, professional contribution, and collective thinking about what sustains quality and wellbeing in training practice.🧠
If this speaks to your experience as a trainer, we encourage you to apply.
Most costs are covered, including accommodation, meals, and programme. Travel is reimbursed according to Erasmus+ rules.

🎙️ New podcast episode is out!

How can we truly support the next generation in a fast-changing world?

In this episode, we talk with Paul Meunier, Executive Director of Youth Intervention Programs Association, about self-awareness in youth work and why who we are shapes how we support others.

We explore big questions: Are we too quick to label youth behavior instead of understanding the environments behind it? How can self-awareness shape more authentic and effective youth work? And in a world of AI and digital connection, why do human relationships and shared experiences still matter more than ever?

A reflective conversation on leadership, connection, and helping young people build lives of integrity. 🎧

🎙️ **New podcast episode is out!**

What does it really mean to *learn* in the age of Google and AI?

In this episode, we speak with Barbara Oakley, creator of the global course "Learning How to Learn", about why memorisation, repetition, and deep practice still matter more than ever.

We explore big questions: Is “just look it up” a myth? Are we mistaking engagement for learning? And are “safe spaces” sometimes preventing young people from developing true critical thinking?

A thought-provoking conversation about discipline, creativity, and what it really takes to build rock-solid knowledge in today’s world. 🎧

🎙️ New podcast episode is out!

What does meaningful participation look like for Generation Alpha?

In this episode, we talk with Andrés Falk and Marcela Guerrero from Coglobal about youth participation and innovative school-based participatory approaches, such as Ágora Infantil, where children influence real, local decisions.

We also dive into big questions: disinformation, polarisation, fast feedback culture and why Gen A might actually hold the tools for the future of democracy.

🌱 New episode alert! 🌱
Our latest guest is the brilliant Alena Tomanová — youth worker, innovator, researcher, and current chairwoman of YouthWatch.

Together we explored the living worlds of Generation Z (and Generation Alpha) — how they learn, how they communicate, how they dream, and why the way they navigate life feels so different from generations before them.

We talked about:
🌍 Instant information + visual cultures
💫 Curiosity, exploration & non-linear engagement
🤝 Intergenerational misunderstandings (on both sides!)
🔥 A generation that questions institutions and pushes for climate action, justice, and change
