Something I get asked constantly: "Does Frankie actually remember stuff between sessions, or do I have to explain myself every single time?"
She remembers. But there's one thing most people miss — and it makes all the difference.
Here's how it works.
Frankie runs on a three-tier memory system. Stored in your own database — nobody else's account touches it.
**Tier 1 is permanent.** The stuff that never changes. Who you are, how you work, what you've told her not to do. Things like "I only take on 3 clients at a time" or "don't push me to niche down." Set it once, it stays forever.
**Tier 2 is active context.** What you're working on right now. Decisions you've made. Open loops. Each entry has an importance score attached — more important things stick around longer, less important ones fade out over time so your memory doesn't fill up with noise from 8 months ago.
**Tier 3 is patterns.** This one builds slowly. My Claude assistant Frankie notices how you work, what you avoid, what you respond well to — and confidence-scores it. The more consistent a pattern, the stronger it gets.
The part that surprises people: you don't update any of it yourself. You just talk. If you tell her something worth remembering, she saves it. If you correct something she's got wrong, she updates it. No database. No forms. Just the conversation.
But here's the one thing you actually need to do 👇
At the end of every session, say something that signals you're done.
- "Done for today"
- "That's all"
- "Wrapping up"
- Even just "bye" — as long as you mean it as a sign-off
When she hears that, she saves a session summary, cleans up anything stale from Tier 2, and locks in what you covered. Without it, she still picks things up during the session — but the clean save and prune don't happen. Over time, that adds up to a messier memory.
Two seconds. That's it.
Next time you open a session, she reads your memory before she says anything. She already knows what's been happening — what you're working on, what decisions you made last time, what's sitting on your plate. You don't re-explain. You just pick up where you left off.
An assistant who needs to be briefed every single day isn't an assistant. It's just a very fast Google.
Say goodbye properly. She'll handle the rest. 👋
