Pineapple Payasam – പൈനാപ്പിള് പായസം Recipe
Payasam is often the most looked-forward item in any Kerala Sadya or during Onam. So here I am sharing a super easy payasam recipe.
Pineapple Payasam / പൈനാപ്പിള് പായസം / കൈതച്ചക്ക പായസം is a quick & easy Kerala dessert popularly made during the Onam
Ingredients
Ripe pineapple - 1 no (cut into small pieces)Sugar - 1/2 cupThin coconut milk - 2 cupThick coconut milk - 2 cupCondensed milk - 1/2 cupChowari (sago seeds) - 1/4 cupCashew nuts - 50 gmRaisins - 50 gmGhee - 3 tspCardamom powder - 1/4 tspWater - 3 cup
Method
Step 1
Chop the pineapple into small pieces.
Step 2
Heat a pan and add 1 cup of water, sugar, pineapple and cook for 5 minutes. When the pineapple is cooked, add 2 tsp of ghee and mash it with a spoon.
Step 3
Cook the chowari (sago seeds) in 2 cups of water. Add the cooked chowari to the cooked pineapple mixture.
Step 4
Add thin coconut milk to it and bring it to boil. When it starts boiling, add the condensed milk, thick coconut milk and heat it for 2 minutes.
Step 5
Turn off the flame and add the cardamom powder to it and mix well.
Step 6
Heat 1 tsp of ghee in a pan and fry the cashew nuts and raisins. Garnish the payasam with roasted cashew nuts and raisins.
Step 7
